The Land of the Golden Sands
Black was all Jackie could see. His body felt as if it weighed nothing. He grumbled, as he looked down at his body. It was as it should be, the hole wasn’t there. Then came a sound he knew all too well. A hissing. That horrible hissing had come back. In the darkness two pairs of eyes shined bright. Jackie looked into them, a fire began to burn inside of his stomach. Jackie tried to move his limbs to get closer to them. He knew it was The darkness. Jackie was ready to settle things once and for all. The darkness was a cosmic entity inside of Jackie but he was going to show that it was him who was in control. Outside Of his mind Jackie’s body began to twitch. The fight outside the temple was only the beginning. “Congratulations Jackie...” the darkness hissed. “Shut the hell up!” Jackie demanded. “Of course Jackie.” It said. That took him by a bit of a surprise. It was being surprisingly cooperative. “I’ve come to settle things.” He said. “These games and schemes have gone on for too long!” The darkness remained silent. “Of course they have. Why do you think we had you go through this little ordeal Jackie? Why the trouble? We needed to see that you were still as strong as you were before you had gone away.” “What?” Jackie said. “What do you mean?” The darkness chuckled. “You have been gone for such an awfully long time. We were wondering on letting you die, and find a being more befitting of wielding our power. It seems we were right in giving you a second chance. You’re still as strong, but for the trials that are still to come you will need to be stronger. For your family’s sake.” Jackie thought for a moment. Family? What did it mean? “We have finished putting you together.. Wake up Jackie! It’s your time to rule again.” With those final words Jackie’s eye shot open and he jolted up right, taking a large gasp of air.
