Nobody said it was cute.

Stan Pines never thought he couldn’t make it out in the world without his bro. He left saying he didn’t need ‘anyone’ and he was out to prove it. Problem is, he still failed time after time after time. Stan thought he could make it in the world without his bro; the world, however, consistently told him otherwise.

Stan NEVER wished for Ford to fail. He accidentally hit a table, tried to fix the issue, and then got reamed because Ford THOUGHT his brother did it on purpose. Stan would have let Ford go if that’s what was going to happen. He may have wanted Ford to stay, but that doesn’t mean he would have stopped him.

It’s not stated that Ford was able to make many friends or even move on. The only thing we know is that he got his PHD in 6 goddamn years; do you REALLY think he was out socializing? He couldn’t even get girls to talk to him. He was the “weird science guy up in the woods” to the rest of Gravity Falls. Neither twin made good connections with other people after the other left. The only person we know he knew was Fiddles; to him they were college buddies - to Fiddles he was a visiting researcher. That discrepancy should be noted in Ford’s ability to connect and assess relationships with other people.

Their relationship didn’t turn unhealthy until AFTER they were separated. The world/fate/whatever needed them to be apart for the portal to be built, and that’s what happened. Together they stand; divided they fall. Literally the entirety of the show rests on them being separated and failing at life, only to come together again and make fate start moving.

Seriously they were very happy and healthy together! ‘Those were the good days’; Stan never wanted to tie down his bro and Ford never felt like his bro was holding him back. Stan supported and backed his bro in everything that he did; Ford was grounded and supported by his brother when even his parents may not have taken notice. That’s a very healthy sibling relationship! The thing that made it unhealthy was a severe miscommunication, a severe mishap with a perpetual motion machine, and barely any time for all of it to be explained.

Ever since that ‘moment’, their relationship and communication skills have been strained, their ability to connect with others has severely diminished, and their emotional health has waned. It took Stan almost half of season one to really connect with the twins - it took him 7 episodes to call Dipper ‘Dipper’. The only reason their relationship is currently unhealthy all stems from that moment 40+ years ago, when everything went to shit and now they’re picking up the pieces.

Likes can only go so far for artists. Artists may exclusively upload their artwork to tumblr, or don’t have the time to use other sites and prefer tumblr over deviantART due to its simplicity, but the tagging system can make it harder to navigate. Many artists on tumblr tag with high-traffic tags or use their own tags to prevent tag clogging which eventually become lost. That’s why it’s very important to reblog an artist’s work. 

I’m not trying to push you to ruin your blog’s aesthetic or something, nor am I saying that “you must absolutely reblog your favourite artist’s work or you’re trash”, all I’m saying is if you truly want to support your favourite artist, instead of just liking their posts, try to reblog them once in a while. The more reblogs they receive, the more exposure/notes/followers they may receive, and it’s just one of the easiest ways to show you care about them.

These two are a recipe for Disaster
