A Little Father/Son Time
If there was one good thing about the whole insane dilemma with Ray, it was that, as far was his parents were concerned, Rhett was invisible. He wasn’t jealous or petulant about it, as a matter of fact, he relished it. He didn’t have to make up excuses for his marks or rehash his fights at Hogwarts. He already had a more-than-stern talking to from his mother about the fights he had gotten into in Hogwarts. Rhett loved his mother, but she truly could frighten the wits out of him.
Not that he’d tell anyone else that.
His Potions textbook lay abandoned on the couch next to him as he watched some show on the telly. It was a sweltering hot day at it was far to stuffy to attempt his potions essay. The ink didn’t even seem to want to dry. A moment later though, he recognized his father’s footsteps on the stairs behind him. Rhett had forgotten he had stayed home from work today.
Ron walked into the sitting room and spotted his son. He had stayed home from work, and he had decided he wanted to spend the day with Rhett. He figured his son was feeling a bit neglected, with everything that had been going on. And he knew that feeling all too well, having grown up in a much bigger family than this one.
"Mind if I join you?" He asked. "I figured since I'm home, and you're home, we could spend some time together. I know things have been tough lately, but I'd like to make up for it."
