edeninterrupted:
Just nightmares. Eden told herself that all the time but it didn’t make them any less frightening. But she repeated it to herself again anyway, a good patient. “If…if I tell you, you can’t tell anyone else right?” she asked, wringing her hands together nervously. “Because they’re memories, of very bad things.” She didn’t know how much she was supposed to say, didn’t know if he could try to make her go somewhere else for her own good. She sniffled again and dried her eyes on her sleeve. “Oh I guess you’re right, sorry, I’ll try.” She was weak, so that didn’t mean anything but she didn’t want to be annoying. “You can’t make me leave right? I don’t want to leave.”
“everything said in this office stays in this office. it’s all confidential.” he assured the woman softly. and although anything he felt needed to be placed in her file it would, and what he jotted down would remain in his notes but he didn’t feel the need usually to talk about patients with other staff. “are these memories ones you’ve been repressing? have they been apart of your nightmares?” ashton wasn’t used to dealing with such soft patients. it was refreshing but suffocating at the same time. ashton’s face showed a light, and small smile very briefly when she apologized and asked about being made to leave. she wanted to stay there with him despite how rude he had been towards her. “you still have forty minutes with me.” he assured. “i can’t make you leave before that time is up.”
