Tulips are so pretty, I wanted to make a long elegant dress because of how long the petals can be. The Ruby Spotted Swallowtail is also a show stopper of a butterfly so I thought they suited each other well.

So I am finished with my con's for the year so I am so excited to get back to drawing. On my vacation I saw so many hydrangea's and I felt so inspired to do another Flower Faerie, and because I overdo everything I also made two more, this time all 3 will be butterflies instead of moths. Also I am aware that the front of a blue morpho would be brown but the iconic part of them is the dramatic blue and black wings, also I wanted to show the dress because that's kind of the point.

Just got back from vacation! I drew these while I was at Cape Cod start to finish on procreate, usually I sketch on procreate and render on paint tool sai. So that's why they are a bit messy but I think they still turned out well.

Anyway these are proxies for my new Cat themed Queen Marchesa deck. Gisela blade of Goldnight, as a orange and white tabby. and the Assassin Token Queen Marchese makes with haste and deathtouch.

Bee Balm, one of my most beloved plants I have in my native garden. They can grow so tall! I love love bee's and growing plants that support local pollinators. Her dress is inspired by a fringe dress but with petals instead.

I wanted to draw some of my favorite flowers as dresses and then I thought they would look super cute on fairies! So here is a white satin moth wearing a cute little lily of the valley dress. I made her antennae tan because to me from a distance they can look tan/cream.

Personally I grew up knowing turquoise as the birthstone of December, along with other gemstones being chosen for other months, as I know some months have multiple options for gemstones. Did you consider any of those other gemstones when picking which ones for your mermaids?

Yes, I did a lot of research and there are quite a few options for quite a few of the months, I found FOUR for June which is crazy. I even saw Blue Topaz as another option for December but I went with Zircon because November has a Topaz and because I thought the history was pretty neat. But it was a mixture of, history, aesthetics, and an attempt at color balance. If I had more time I would do more because all of these gemstones are gorgeous and it was an absolute joy learning about them.
