I’m honestly glad to see people step out of the radqueer community, I can’t help but see it as a burden as a non-rq paraphile. For things like beastiality and csam to be allowed to become a debate of whether or not it’s bad is enough of a sign that the community has failed to be safe for anyone.

But I can’t be acting like I’m on some high horse here either, para spaces have allowed these things to become debates in the first place through contact stances and letting dangerous members stay for “recovery” (I find recovery from being a predator through online spaces almost impossible tbh).

There needs to be heavy reform I think with how we treat these things, I’m tired of seeing kids be preyed upon, I’m tired of people being more concerned about language and labels than the safety of the vulnerable. I’m just relieved to at least see some put their foot down.

They've become discourse labels rather than a genuine statement on an individual's ethics.

They have always been discourse labels. "Discourse" can range anywhere from useless proship discourse to discourse about whether or not it's okay to sexually abuse teenagers and children, which is what contact discourse is about. Contact stances were made by MAPs, for MAPs, to differentiate between the MAPs that thought it was okay to have relationships with teenagers (and sometimes children) and the MAPs that didn't.

You would rather side with people who are loud and proud about the fact they inherently support CSA (pro-contacts) than side with the people who may or may not secretly support CSA (anti-contacts). How have you come to the conclusion that "anyone of any contact stance can be an abuser, so i'm okay with the side that's explicitly pro-abuse" is a good stance to hold?

Pro-contact has always meant "I think it is morally okay for adults to have sex with teenagers" (at the very least, most are also okay with adults and teenagers having sex with children) and anti-contact has always meant "I think it is morally wrong for adults to have sex with teenagers and children, and for teenagers to have sex with children". The only reason there's ever been any confusion is because of radqueers like you.

You are still a radqueer and you will continue to be grouped in with radqueers until you stop being okay with abusers. "Contact stances don't tell you anything" is an idea exclusive to radqueers and other radqueer-adjacent abusers.

This exact mentality is why I think NEITHER side is healthy, actually. You literally sound like a cultist when you speak this way. No, I'm not part of your little cult, and I am not part of radqueers little cult either.

Offline and in normal society, do you think the average person uses contact labels? No, they do not. Because its NORMAL and EXPECTED to be against abuse. EVERYONE should be. But people like you and people like radqueers turn that into identity politics. I shouldn't need a stupid fucking label to know that abuse is wrong and neither should you or anyone else. I should not have to be on a "side" to be against abuse. Normal people do not function like that. You need to log off and experience some time as a functioning member of society. I honestly don't really want a contact label at all anymore. In my time in this community I've come to feel that people use contact labels- on both sides of the fence- as shields sometimes. For example, Jay claiming people only hate him because he's pro-c, and his remaining supporters believing that. A contact label is vague and doesn't tell me much about what a person actually does- what harm they do or do not cause. People with any contact stance can cause harm and I really do feel like- although well intentioned at first- these labels have been warped into a tool of abusers. They've become discourse labels rather than a genuine statement on an individual's ethics.

A better label for myself would just be "non practicing" in terms of my paraphilias that have the potential to cause harm. Its free of potential vague grey areas and clearly clarifies how I personally interact with my desires.
