you are missing the point. mizi stays hitting sua, that’s not anything new, and no one is actually romanticizing the abuse when they understand it to be “abuse.” mizi retaliating physically when you can tell that would have never crossed her mind prior was an example of an abuser speaking through a victim. her mother would lash out at mizi and then drape herself over her in an apology, and the point is that mizi is terrified of becoming that. it wasn’t an excuse for her to raise a hand to sua, because there isn’t one, but it is an explanation for why that moment is framed with so much horror. mizi is absolutely horrified that she raised a hand to sua and ran off from what was most likely their last meeting before she was (again, most likely) attacked in that alleyway by that infected limping after her.

it was very obviously commentary on not just the pressure of the idol industry cracking mizi but also a manifestation of that hurt mizi was trying to make sua understand in the other alien stage universe. mizi had been violent since her childhood and we even saw sua not even bat an eye at the rat she gutted. the difference is that mizi’s violence was never directed at sua until she was pushed to an emotional breaking point under impossible circumstances.

Nico turned slowly, blinking. He now wore Minnie Mouse ears—pink bow and all—perched lopsided on his head. His face was a mix of concern and mild dread. “What in Tartarus is a hidden Mickey?” he asked, glancing at Drew like she’d dragged him into a cult initiation. Drew, fully unbothered, wore classic Mickey ears and was sipping from a bright red slushie cup shaped like a balloon. She shrugged. “Disney adults,” she said, like that explained everything. Nico stared off for a beat, as if reevaluating his entire life. “So we’re just pretending this is normal?” “We’re in a park where a man-sized duck signs autographs,” Drew said flatly. “Define normal.” Cut to a zoomed-in shot of the ‘hidden Mickey’ in question—three tiny stones vaguely resembling the iconic shape—while whimsical music played softly over it. Nico’s voice came from off-camera: “That’s it? That’s what made her shriek like she saw God?”
