God of Thunder

              an extremely buff bystander, perhaps.            peggy spotted him amidst the crowd of agents, but      that also could have been the fact that she was looking.                     these avengers, they had a knack for trying to                                 sneak away when no one was looking.                                                    ❝ i’ll very well try, if i must.               and you’ve not yet learned what i’m capable of. ❞         at the very least, she’d cause enough of a scene that              coulson, or fury, might want to chew them out for. and then, oh, while they’re there, he might as well debrief!                                     peggy is no god, but she is cunning.              her tone was lighthearted, though; easy and almost                  friendly. hip juts out as she stands, arms folded.                          ❝ it’ll take five minutes. i’ll do it, if i have to.     they just want to make sure everyone’s handling well. ❞

    "Handling well?" he echoed, mischief in his     thoughtful expression. "If that's all they want,     then by all means, let us debrief."

    With that, he bent down and slung the petite     woman  over  his  shoulder,   carrying   her     through the halls on his way out of the build-     -ing as easily as if she were a sack of potat-     -oes.  She was bound to resist him anyhow,     so if he was going to have to wrestle with her,     it may as well be on the move-- before Fury     or one of his lackeys caught wind of his un-     -subtle escape.

     ”I…haven’t seen anyone like you before around here, sir. I just wanted to make sure you weren’t lost. Getting lost in the Highlands can be dangerous in the winter, trust me.”

      “I’m Toffa, by the way.”

"'Tis but a trifle compared to the frozen wastes of Jotumheim."

"It is a tool— one that can destroy or build."

"Oh! I mean…do you use it to destroy stuff? Or are you more for the building part?” She inches closer, suddenly overcome with curiosity for this massive piece of equipment. She is well aware of the degree to which she can be squished, but she will disregard it for now— these carvings, this paint— it’s all so unique, and she finds herself more and more fascinated with every frisk of her eyes. Sarah reaches out a hand to touch its handle.

         "A great deal of destruction has been wrought          by  this  hammer  in  my  hands-- more than I          care to say, I'm afraid. But in doing so, I have          also managed to build. Not in quite so literal a          sense as you presume, but in the peace that I          have secured throughout the Nine Realms."

✧ — “I want to sleep with it! It’s warm, and can           hide somebody way too easily.”

Halfway between the park and the diner, there was a small, quiet alley between two townhouses. Astrid skidded around the corner, then came to a screeching halt as a familiar figure came into view at the other end. She stood transfixed, hair plastered to her face, coat half-buttoned, out of breath. For the space of a small eternity, all was perfectly still.

Then her whole face lightened up with a grin.

"I knew it. I knew it was you."

Thor turned his gaze upward, where the last dregs of the  storm  played out through the spent black clouds. The voice of the thunder as good as his  own.  She'd recognized  him  from  his  storm as surely as it was his voice calling her name.

           ❝ i hope you’re not trying to sneak out. ❞                       of course, peggy couldn’t stop him if he tried                    to push passed her, but for now she’s carefully                            placed in front of the open door, leading to                                                 an empty hallway of freedom.                                ❝ agent coulson wants you to debrief. ❞

    And he'd even dressed for discretion, too.

         His customary Asgardian armor was noticeably absent,          replaced  instead  with  Midgardian  clothing  of  a clean,          tasteful cut, his bulky frame still managing to  strike  an          impressive   silhouette  without  thick  pauldrons  and  a          flowing crimson cape.  Even  his  hammer  was  absent--          to all but the keenest of eyes, he was nothing but another          average bystander.

"What was the worst thing they ever caught you doing?”

           ”I come in peace, I promise. I didn’t mean to sneak up on you like that.”
