What if Louis is just some demon who lives alone? Hee pretty high ranked (ish) so he generally lives a carefree life, but hes been alone so long he doesn’t really realize how lonely he feels most of the time?

Sometimes he and Francis (succubus or incubus, depending on his mood) hang out. Louis wouldn’t call him a friend, that would imply a closeness he doesn’t believe they have, but Francis is pretty openly affectionate with him. To be fair, Francis is affectionate with a lot of people, and while maybe he could like like Louis, he doesn’t think the feeling could be reciprocated. So they see each other every so often, but not often enough to feel like an actual important relationship.

Louis is pretty much microdosing affection lol

What if Y/N is an angel who got captured after a raid on AngelLand™️ (name pending)

Once à being filled with joy, spending their time playing music and laughing, lost all hope after witnessing how cruel demons can be (and their halo once it happened).

And angels who have been broken aren’t all that much fun anymore. Once the highest ranking demons (monarchs, lords, army officials) have lost interest, they’re sold off.

Louis stumbles upon one of these markets while out to get [magic shit or whatever], and sees Y/N.

He’s not a fan of demon society and how it operates. Cringes when he sees the treatment of angels. He’s a demon, he doesn’t feel an immense drive to be kind, or even nice. But he can’t say he feels the need the be cruel either.

He does feel like a hypocrite, and feels a certain shame then, when he walks up and makes an offer, without even thinking too much about it.

He isn’t acting logically. If he did stop to ponder it, he would have to admit that he’s acting purely selfishly, and out of a need for companionship.

The sale goes though, and Y/N is taken without much resistance.

Truth be told Louis isn’t planning on doing much to them. Not much of a physical person (unless Francis is around, in which case he’s fine indulging). Not much of a talker (again, unless Francis is around and talks his ears off, where he’ll give short replies). Just craves… someone around.

Obviously Y/N doesn’t know that. But they know they’ve probably seen worse. And they’re in hell, with little to no chance of escape anyway.

So, yeah, things are tense at first. But with time, Y/N gets used to being around Louis, who’s mostly quiet, but keeps staring with that unreadable expression. But they’re fed, given proper clothes, allowed to wash and left alone for the most part. They spend their day going through the many novels that he’s keeping (although they’re written in a dialect that, while comprehensible, is still new enough they need to spend a short while deciphering it.) sometimes they’ll just explore their new “home” and the immediate surroundings, fenced off from the rest of the world. Louis sometimes follows them, not unlike a cat. Keeping his distance but clearly trying to stay somewhat close.

the house is maintained by disembodied hands emerging from the shadows. Louis once muttered Y/N didn’t need to thank them, as they weren’t sentient, just a regular spell. The angel asked if anyone could do it, and as they did, they could have swore they saw the smallest glint in his eyes.

“Maybe I could try to show you.” He’d reply after a second, turning his glance away.

He also whispers that they don’t *have* to stay. They can leave. But again, knowing they’re in hell, and unsure if they’d even be accepted back in heaven in their state, Y/N can’t be sure he isnt just messing with them.

So they have their routine, until Francis shows up.

Immediately he’s intrigued by Louis’ new companion. He’s seen angels in passing, but rarely been so close to one. He does find them beautiful, but he’s also slightly jealous, which surprises even himself. He’s surprised that out of nowhere, Louis just has someone else. Is the latter going to just forget about him? That won’t do.

Francis starts showing up a lot more often. The open affection is new to Y/N, but does help them open up just a little more. The three of them just kinda keep growing closer and whatever blablabla fanfic shit happens whatever
