Hey, just wanted to say that your art looks amazing! But I'm curious about your thoughts on this...
What do you think of the Danny x Valerie ship? I am a hardcore DxS shipper, but I respect others who don't ship it. I just don't understand why the peole that do, get so angry and furious when they say "this should have been endgame instead of Sam"
I looked back at these episodes, and I just don't see it. Most of their complaints is just stupid hatred towards Sams' character. "Flirting with disaster" only showed us why Danny x Valerie shouldn't be together.
Because I thought about it, and these two wouldn't have worked. Let's say in some alternate timeline, they did end up together. They do some fun stuff, and suddenly Danny senses a ghost. He has to make up a lie in order to transform. Perhaps Valerie also uses her gear to fight the same ghost he's fighting ( and we all know she hates Danny Phantom )
This stuff repeats itself over and over and Valerie begins to question if he's hiding something or even cheating. Perhaps he eventually has to confess that he's half ghost. Now I don't know where it goes from here, only the writers and creators know that. Maybe she''ll be angry that he was keeping secrets from her, or that she hates his other half because ghosts ruined her life. Or maybe she wants to join him with ghost fighting because she doesn't want him to get hurt. It's very interesting to think about.
Another reason why this can't work is, depending on this decision, will she keep up with Danny's ghost fighting life? Will their relationship even work? Being able to balance normal and hero life? Sam and Tucker will sacrifice anything for their best friend, but how far until Valerie snaps?
And another thing people tend to ignore...she works for Vlad. Danny can't convince her he's evil otherwise Vlad will expose him. Granted, Vlad could replace her if he wanted to, but needed a good reason. Danny will be like: "Yeah, uh, Vlad is an evil prick who wants to murder my dad so he can bang my mom, so don't believe him"
This will result in either more complications, or growth. Again, only the writers and creator of the show knows what would've happened, but it is very interesting to think about. I don't hate Valerie, not at all. Infact, if Danny got a 4th season I would've loved to see her team up with our ghost fighting gang. Danny and Sam would move past the grudges they had with her, with Danny saying they weren't meant for each other, but they will be there is she needs help. Maybe even show that not all ghosts are evil ( like Frostbite ) and she could get past her hatred for ghosts.

I'm pretty much only interested in DannyxSam. My thoughts on Valerie is that she only really appears in 6 episodes out of like 53 episodes and is severely underdeveloped as a character. Her concept and design were cool but her actual writing was flimsy and she and Danny were only "friendly" with each other as humans for 2 episodes one of which was the shipping episode for them in FWD. I just couldn't care about her character much since they gave her shallow motivations for being a ghost hunter (she is an anti-hero after all the audience isn't totally meant to agree with her), and she was pretty mean to Danny and his friends for most of her appearances, and had selective amnesia about Danny's family being ghost hunters. Her writing was flat at times since she didn't get used much in the show. I think she could've been really cool if they gave her more depth and more appearances, especially showcasing her hunting ghosts other than Danny and actually catch them but as she stands in canon she doesn't have a lot of buildup and so really their relationship makes no sense.
People have their reasons for shipping and that's fine and people should like what makes them happy, that's my stance. I'm not here to diss other peoples ships but I also won't pretend to like them. I personally go by canon and in canon Danny is a huge jerk for trying to date Valerie when he knows she hates his alter ego and he knows he's lying to her. Their romance makes him look bad, if he cared about her as a person he wouldn't play games, and he doesn't seem to have a lot of respect for her point of view since he wants her to give up ghost hunting. He never even shows an interest in telling her the truth, he outright states that "she can never find out" about his secret despite knowing all about hers. There just wasn't a strong canon reason for them to be together other than drama and playing with the enemies to lover trope which is a trope I really don't like as I don't really consider hatred and attempts to maim/destroy each other chemistry. I would've liked Danny and Valerie to try to be friends (her joining the Team would've been the best) and Danny needed to consider that she needed to know the truth no matter the consequences if they were to ever truly have a chance at bonding meaningfully.
