the two go to different universities really far apart, Malcolm studies law while Conner works on becoming a software engineer, they both work really hard for several years, as well as banking in favours from all over to get a bit more.

after everything they end up together again, with a small cottage vibes house on a tiny bit of land that backs onto a forest to make it look bigger, they own a couple farm animals and have a garden for financial reasons.

It’s super cozy, and they end up going into a nearby(but still pretty far) city every couple days for work and other reasons, but overall end up having lots of stay at home days from all over the years that they’ve saved.

I’m thinking at this point no one they’ve kept in touch with really knows that their a thing and that they have a house together and everything, because they don’t have guests over much while settling down the first half year.

eventually Travis ends up coming down an early morning, bring a couple of old faces with him (Katie, Annabeth, Percy, Rachel, ect ect) popping down to see Conner, maybe their looking for something in particular for a quest or idea they are investigating.

Conner opens the door, he has a hand carved cane because of an injury that got intense after camp that happened to his leg, he invites them in, half hour later Malcolm comes out of one of the rooms, he was having a lazy day, could be because of being tired, work related, sick, or maybe chronic pains,

Instead he might have had an idea on what he wanted to do, maybe hobbies in arts that he wanted to pursue, or had the need to travel, or build, just something,

Then along comes Shiro, who says he has potential, says he believes in Keith, which is most likely the first time someone's really said that, showed they care about him,

So he becomes a pilot, finds a love for it obviously, but overall is doing it to stay close to someone and get a better education,

Preach for Keith never wanting to become a pilot at first but continuing in fear of Shiro leaving,

And listen I love bloodyMary and all the other au's surrounding a pilot being introduced but here me out, the pilots just a kid, maybe a teenager

Orphan kid sent to space because they are a good pilot, maybe they're planet has no coma sleep method so they have been alone the whole time

They get in range of the patrova line and Adrian but fuel runs out and food is low so the kid is a sitting duck having to wait for death, until Grace and Rocky show up

Now imagine introducing a hyper active teenager(14-16) who is smart and can help but is still deep down just a child and has their own demons to battle

Grace becomes a kind of parent to them, especially because Grace is already so good with kids(Rocky can be an uncle of some kind)
