Just a Slut for Art

I love the Umbrella Academy comic series and Netflix series so this little sketch of Number 5 was very fun

This my first attempt in 3 years to make a stop motion animation. This took almost 400 frames at 13 fps and a total of 3 hrs for 30 seconds of content. I have so much respect for stop motion artists, it takes so much time and patients that I dont have. The background sound is also an origional sound piece, it is just me making noise with various things I could find around the house.

Here is a little art dump of some of my ink art. I am still learning this medium, but it has been a lot of fun

Based off of the work of Julie Mehretus painting called "Algoriths, Apparitions, and Translations" (2013) learning the flow of art and mark making is super important and really helps build muscle memory and developing your own style. Doing art like this occasionally really helps me loosen up my lines

For my classes, I have to design and recreate this still life many times, and charcoal is by far one of my favorite mediums to work with. True peace is being able to relax and listen to the sound of charcoal blending on paper.

As a white artist, it is very important to acknowledge my privilege and embrace learning how to create pieces including and embracing every race and skin tone. Every skin color is beautiful and an artist is not an artist if you are not willing to work with every skin tone.

And you of course cannot have Emily without Victor

In the theme of Tim Burton, Emily was very fun to color in, it's not often you get the chance to color blue skin

I could not find the origional artist, I just found an image on google, but this tim burton Melanie Martinez was very fun with a lot of fun colors to work with

Doing art that isn't realism has always been difficult for me, so this was very out of my comfort zone with a medium that I'm still learning. It is India ink watered down and a brush.

Here is Gerard Way again. I did this piece before I started art school, but I'm still pretty happy with it.

Frank Iero is also very important to me so this was a lot of fun

Gerard Way has always been a huge inspiration for me, so I've obviously drawn him around 10 times at least
