I think my favorite thing about my two major world-building projects, Planet Nelsia and SPINBALL.exe (AKA Spin's world), is that one of them just straight up doesn't exist.
Like, in universe, Spin is literally just a video game character who became a .zip file and transcended the digital plane into the real world. NONE of his backstory stuff actually happened. All his world consists of is the video game, Sonic Spinball, which is now a pocket dimension housed inside of a horrifying amalgam that lives inside of Spin himself. And even then, the world/game itself is so corrupted that only ONE LEVEL, The Machine, still exists.
Just ONE.
Imagine that. Imagine if your ENTIRE world consisted of, like, your bedroom. And it was just you. No one else exists except in your memory, even your loved ones. The only life events that actually happened to you were opening the door to your bedroom and stepping inside; everything else is all in your head. But still, every time you walk into your bedroom, you have to relive the most traumatic moment of your life.
That is Spin's entire existence.
The only reason WHY anyone else from his world can even exist in the real world is because they were pulled from HIS memories. Tails literally had to hook Spin up to a computer and sift through an ocean of corrupted code just to find what little shreds of Sally and Junior remained. They were just ones and zeroes, and they also had to come to grips about not being real. That what ACTUALLY exists of their world is just a small fragment, and the rest is in their memories.
TLDR: All the lore I made for Spin's AU is basically useless because none of it actually happened to him, it's just pre-programmed memories a la Calhoun from Wreck-It Ralph LOL
That's not to say it wasn't fun tho! And honestly, I think if Tails took more from Spin's memories and used his coding know-how, he could theoretically recreate more of the world itself, so the universe isn't entirely non-existent. It could actually be a visit-able place that's more than JUST the game. I like that idea a lot.
I mentioned in my latest OC render that I'd have more world building, and now here it is! I came up with some concepts for what planet Nelsia's ecosystem might look like.

Nelsian Flora
These small beings live alongside the Nelsians and are vital to the ecosystem of the planet. They consume toxins and microbes out of the air for energy, which in turn keeps the atmosphere breathable. They are genderless and reproduce via spores.
Due to their inability to fend for themselves, Nelsian hunting groups are tasked with protecting the Sukja-veyvi from predators at all costs. Otherwise, the Sukja-veyvi are playful, curious, and clumsy, and they get along especially well with Nelsian children. Seeing them often signifies good health and good luck.
A giant, tulip shaped flower with deep blue coloring on the petals. It looks harmless, but its main defense mechanisms are its retractable stingers and many tongues inside of its "mouth."
By consuming Sukja-veyvi spores, they create a nectar-like serum called sutinga-jusu ("Stinger Juice") that is a Nelsian delicacy. Some even ferment this serum to create the planet's equivalent of alcohol.
Every other part of the plant is edible as well, especially the seeds, which are also a highly valued food.
The Drow-bagara is merely a Drow-sutinga that hasn't fully grown yet. They start off as round, watermelon-sized berries that are hearty and sweet. Due to the rate at which they grow, they must be harvested at a specific time.
These carnivorous plants stay shut during the day and bloom at night. They slither around on their roots and spit venomous barbs.
Only their seeds, which are just inert barbs, are edible; the other parts are either poisonous or too bitter. They release their seeds during the day and rely on pollinators to spread them so they can flourish at night.
Sukja-veyvi are their main prey, but they have also been known to consume the eggs of other creatures, including Nelsians (horrifyingly). Nelsian hunters must kill them on sight, lest they grow out of control.
Geoda-bagara ("Rock Berry"): Large fruits that look like geodes and must be cracked open. They are filled with juice and a thin layer of "meat."
Bubula-bagara ("Bubble Berry"): Coral-like plants that live underwater and produce small, glowing white berries en masse. They are the main food source of the Aguon-huispa ("Water Wisp"), but Nelsians enjoy them as healthy snacks or as dessert toppings.
Aguon-guriid ("Water Grass"): Skinny sprouts that grow in the water and bloom into green flowers when they reach land. They are essentially the lettuce of Nelsia.
Fleura-celsza ("Purple Ice"): A vegetable found in the mountains. It looks like hibiscus and has the consistency of tortilla chips.
Mae-zruta ("Red Fruits"): Sweet, tasty fruits that grow on the Bagara-aoba ("Berry Tree"). They look like overgrown strawberries, but they are the Nelsian equivalent of apples.
Aoba-sto ("Royal Tree"): A type of tree that grows the Pokoriata-zruta ("Golden Fruits"), which are an incredible delicacy and used in medicine. Those fruits are valued as much as fermented sutinga-jusu.
Aoba-vegga ("Green Tree"): The most common type of tree on Nelsia, providing lumber and animal habitats. They have tall, thick trunks and only have branches/leaves on their tops, making them appear flat. The Bagara-aoba, which produces the Mae-zruta, are a variant of these trees.
Nelsian Fauna
These cute, harmless creatures look like pink, fluffy balls of fur with antennae and wings. Both males and females are pink, but the males are more vibrant while the females are more pastel. They exclusively eat seeds, which is a great way to get rid of Lunet-buluma.
Their wings aren't big enough for them to fly, but they can hover for a short time. They are a common Nelsian pet, as well as livestock for their eggs. Female Yoko-enu lay eggs as often as Earth chickens do, and a male can choose to fertilize them for reproduction. Their eggs are as large as they are!
These tall, gangly creatures almost look like flying saucers with four legs and hooves. They are the equivalent of Earth cows, so they are kept as livestock along with Yoko-enu. In the wild, they live in herds.
By eating only plants and seeds, the Jusu-enu produce blankoro-jusu ("White Juice"/"Milk"), but only the females do it. The females also give birth to live young. The males are usually the ones used for their meat, as they are more robust.
Interestingly, the Jusu-enu do not eat Sukja-veyvi, but do have a fondness for their spores. When they do eat the spores, their blankoro-jusu is higher in quality and nutrients.
These ferocious bugs resemble centipedes with wings and super-sized mandibles. They live in a hive and attack anything that comes near.
They pollinate plants and flowers, including spreading Sukja-veyvi spores, and their hives are built from the by-products of their pollination. Since they don't produce honey, their hive combs are the only available food, but the bugs themselves can also be eaten when killed and dried. Nelsians will sometimes cultivate the hives to harvest the comb, as well as the bugs' venom for medicine.
Their gender roles and reproduction are exactly the same as Earth bees, featuring a queen, female workers, and male drones. Queen Mae-kagare are made when a female is fed sutinga-jusu at birth.
These amphibious creatures resemble slugs with many legs and an anglerfish's lure. They have no eyes, but a powerful sense of smell, and they use their lure to attract prey. They are able to eat virtually anything, but have a fondness for Drow-sutinga seeds.
Males also use their lure to attract a mate, and the females lay the eggs. Due to their resilience and aptitude for hunting, Dreebaio are another common Nelsian pet; basically the equivalent of Earth dogs.
While they primarily live on land in adulthood, they are born and raised underwater. During mating season, large amounts of Dreebaio pairs will migrate back to where they were spawned, in order to lay the eggs for the next generation. The pups are always born clear with white lures.
These creatures resemble giant, cycloptic bats. The males are typically bigger with a broader wingspan, while the females are slender and sleek. The females also birth live young.
Using their eyes and their many external fibers, Raridrixes can sense auras and even read minds, making them extremely hard to kill. They are obligate carnivores and will eat any creature they can get their talons on. They are also primarily nocturnal. Because of this, they often threaten Sukja-veyvi, so Nelsian hunters are required to keep their population controlled.
Their eyes are used for food and medicine, and their skins are used for textile production. Due to their unpredictable nature, Raridrixes are not typically kept as pets by Nelsians, but they can be tamed if they are raised by Nelsians from birth.
These lumbering beasts may look dangerous, but they are actually quite gentle, hence their nickname. They look like six-legged bears and are omnivores but prefer plants.
While the Umal-ca-ru's diet (unfortunately) includes Sukja-veyvi, it also (fortunately) includes Lunet-buluma, as they are immune to its poison. Since they aren't naturally aggressive, Nelsian hunters rarely have to fight them.
Umal-ca-ru are all born brown, but their fur tone in adulthood is a result of the foliage they eat. During mating season, female Umal-ca-ru exclusively eat Drow-sutinga plants to attract males, and the male will choose the brightest colored female. Umal-ca-ru mothers give birth to live young and are fiercely protective of them, but they can be reasoned with if they do not perceive an immediate threat.
Due to the sheer variety of colors they can be, their pelts are quite valuable. Some Nelsians even keep them as livestock, feeding them specific things to produce a desired result, though this practice is rare.
These glowing beings live solely underwater and are the main prey of Aguonsune ("Water Foxes"). They resemble ghosts in a vaguely octopus-like shape.
They are genderless and reproduce by cloning, or by budding when a piece of them is cut off. Due to this, they are often kept as livestock and used for food and medicine. They are also commonly kept as household pets. The only thing they're able to eat is Bubula-bagara.
These aquatic creatures strangely resemble foxes but with scales and fins. They are amphibious, but unlike Dreebaio, they can only stay out of the water for a limited time.
Even though Aguonsune mainly forage underwater, they are yet another predator that Sukja-veyvi must be protected from. Both sexes have translucent bodies and come in various shades of blue, but only the males have the bioluminescent spots. They reproduce like fish do.
They're not typically hunted or kept by Nelsians, but their eggs and tails are edible. Their tails can also regrow.
