a commission is when someone pays an artist to create something for them!

it can be something as simple as “i really want a sketch of this character making pancakes!” all the way to wanting a complex piece with multiple characters + backgrounds, and so on. But the amount of time a piece of art takes and how complex it is will change how much the artist charges

so earlier someone asked if i’d take requests/commissions (requests are just that, unpaid requests for an artist to make something).

by saying i don’t take requests, but i do take commissions, i’m clarifying that if someone wants me to draw something for them, it would be paid work and cost money.
