Now, you said you wanted opinions.

Contrast. Deeper shadows, brighter highlights. Sonic is fine, he's glowing so there, it SHOULD be muted, but the Wyvern is getting lost in the background, especially it's head and claws against the sky. Don't be afraid to use a darker color for the metal, and then make it shiny with white or off-white highlights. It's body also has red glowing patterns - those may not be noticeable against the bright sky, but definitely should be on the rocks.

Light. Light doesn't just create shadows, it affects colour, too. You have this amazing red-purple sunset sky, and then don't let that beautiful colour tint the surroundings - the rocks are still orangey brown, the wyvern is still black and grey. Having a red tint to the whole picture could also have been a way to bring out Sonic as the only truly yellow thing in frame.

Light source. Light has a direction. That's how it creates shadows. Simple stuff, everybody knows it. So where is your light coming from? The clouds would indicate a sun in the middle-back of the sky, somewhere just above the rock structure, but the whole scene has bright ambient lighting - non-directional, not highlight-creating reflected light off of other things in the environment. By this measure, anything in direct light should be almost white with all the light hitting it, which isn't the case, either.

You have these beautiful cream brown colours on it, but unfortunately, I can't put those in yet due to medium limitations (i am too poor for digital art).

I've (extremely haphazardly) thrown in some clouds and the sky. The result is bluer than I'd have liked, but such is life.

First, let's focus on the bright spots, because those are going to be closer to their original colour.

I threw on a layer of brown and shaded with the same pink I used for the cloud highlights, because that's the colour of sunlight in the scene. I did mess up in a few places, trying to make the brown more sandy, but it didn't really work, so we'll just ignore that.

Now, the shadows. Those are gonna use the same light colour as the one used for the sky - because the sky is what provides the ambient light! This is why shadows in the summer have a slight blue tint - they reflect the colour of the sky.
