Greetings. I'm Natale. These universes are fascinating to me.

Greetings.

Call me Natale. I've been lurking around these universes for quite some time, under many different faces. I'm a Watcher whose goal is to create a universe of their own, so to do that, I'm looking at the works of other Watchers and Creators.

^ This is the form I currently inhabit.

Anyway, I hope to learn many things from my journeys here.

(OOC: Hi! Mod here. This blog is a way for me to expand on my OC, Natale (don't mind that my online name is the same as my OC, just call me mod for now) but basically they're a multiversal creature who wants to make a universe of their own someday. Have fun interacting with them :D)

[Jack tilted his head up, squinting his eyes to try and get a look at who was behind the voice.]

"Supposed to be. Think I should've died awhile ago but still kickin'..some-fuckin-how I'm not a doctor."

[Well, at least they were in a hazmat suit so Jack couldn't accidentally give them some kind of disease if they got too close.]

(They go back to explaining while scribbling on the board.)

Sometimes, Watchers can have certain abilities that let them affect the universes they’re watching, some more effective than others. Most watchers can summon plenty of things on a whim, but my expertise is more in shapeshifting and only summoning simple objects.

(To demonstrate, Natale changes the color of their hazmat suit from yellow to green, and they summon a small whiteboard eraser.)

When I need to do something more complex, like, say…change location, summon a person, or summon multiple objects, I need some kind of terminal for that.

(They show him the device in their hand. It looks like a bulky handheld computer of some kind, with a small screen on the top to show text.)

I’d usually do the complex stuff on a computer, but I take this thing with me when I wanna be able to do it while I’m inside a universe. Does that make sense?

"So..if you can go anywhere with that thing, what're ya doing here? In case ya haven't noticed, this place is kind of a shithole."

[Jack asked, gesturing around the dirty med bay with his bloody, sore hands. If Natale could go anywhere in the universe, he couldn't grasp why they'd decide to visit a dying welder on a dank ship floating in an ocean of blood on some moon while the rest of the stars and planets are gone. If he had any say of what universe he'd be in, he'd at least choose one where the planets exist. And maybe see somebody cooler than some dying man.]

I’m so fascinated with this universe and its many branches, but I’ve usually watched—not interacted, watched—either versions of your Captain, or versions of the most recent convict you guys sent down in the blood ocean. So I figured I meet someone here that I barely know in this universe to change things up, ya know? Someone I’ve only seen a glimpse of.

But just..watching everything unfold, all the horrors and pain, without doing anything seemed a little cruel to him. Whatever, maybe even beings outside of what should be possible can't change their fate.]

"Well..sorry 'm not as excitin as them. Unless ya get a kick out of watching a guy slowly die of radiation poisonin and..whatever the fuck else."

[Jack wasn't being entirely serious. Really, he's glad he's not in the captain or convict's position. If that meant being boring to watch, he couldn't really care less. Not like he could control his fate anyway.]

You don't have to be exciting to be interesting. It leaves a lot to the imagination, and most Watchers have a thing for imagining things.

[Jack joked, but there was a tinge of seriousness to it. He couldn't see what was interesting about him. He was just another C.O.I employee, the most interesting thing he could think of about himself was the getting blasted with thousands of milisieverts of radiation. No living family, he was liked by his coworkers but he wasn't sure if they were his friends, outside of the radiation, all he had was his job. Which he couldn't even do anymore.]

I-I...I meant...like...what you were doing before this. Or what could've been if the convict had, uh, known that the camera uses x-rays.

(Natale felt awkward now despite his joking tone, like they failed a skill check or clicked the wrong dialogue option.)

B-But hey! You're somehow still alive, so uhhh...

[Jack replied genuinely. He couldn't see anything interesting about that. To him, that was all his life was before the radiation. Work. He took pride in his work, but he didn't have much outside of that.]

"Yeah..some fuckin how."

[Jack added, he couldn't understand how the hell he was alive either. He should be long dead by now, but he's alive more or less.]

[Jack replied with a shrug. It's been the norm for a while now, it's hard for him to imagine any other way of life besides constant work as humanity's last ditch effort for survival.]

I can't imagine only having one purpose and not even being able to fulfill it. I'd be bored out of my mind. Are you?

[It really was depressing. Hell, his purpose now was basically to die, maybe fulfill any last orders his captain had before he kicked the bucket, but that's it. In his mind, he is nothing outside of his work.]

Uh. What.

(They glitch again, prompting them to look at their device.)

No, no, NO! I thought I figured out the stability issues! Urgh…

(They try to fix the problem but to no avail. They glitch even more.)

This fucking thing decided to malfunction SOMEHOW! This means I’ll have to go back to the office to fix this…b-but I’ll come back! And maybe hopefully I can help you with your boredom problem! And maybe we can—

(Before they can finish their sentence, Natale’s form corrupts as they disappear from existences. Jack will never get to hear their scream in frustration at how they never got to properly say goodbye before leaving.)

Sometimes, Watchers can have certain abilities that let them affect the universes they’re watching, some more effective than others. Most watchers can summon plenty of things on a whim, but my expertise is more in shapeshifting and only summoning simple objects.

(To demonstrate, Natale changes the color of their hazmat suit from yellow to green, and they summon a small whiteboard eraser.)

When I need to do something more complex, like, say…change location, summon a person, or summon multiple objects, I need some kind of terminal for that.

(They show him the device in their hand. It looks like a bulky handheld computer of some kind, with a small screen on the top to show text.)

I’d usually do the complex stuff on a computer, but I take this thing with me when I wanna be able to do it while I’m inside a universe. Does that make sense?

"So..if you can go anywhere with that thing, what're ya doing here? In case ya haven't noticed, this place is kind of a shithole."

[Jack asked, gesturing around the dirty med bay with his bloody, sore hands. If Natale could go anywhere in the universe, he couldn't grasp why they'd decide to visit a dying welder on a dank ship floating in an ocean of blood on some moon while the rest of the stars and planets are gone. If he had any say of what universe he'd be in, he'd at least choose one where the planets exist. And maybe see somebody cooler than some dying man.]

I’m so fascinated with this universe and its many branches, but I’ve usually watched—not interacted, watched—either versions of your Captain, or versions of the most recent convict you guys sent down in the blood ocean. So I figured I meet someone here that I barely know in this universe to change things up, ya know? Someone I’ve only seen a glimpse of.

"I..don't fuckin know, honestly. Got put in here a while ago, passed out for a while, then woke up n just..continued sittin here. Waitin for my doom."

[Jack shrugged. For all he knew, it could've only been days and he would have no clue. Or weeks or months or..years. Jack didn't want to consider that last one. Surely somebody would check up on him in that time frame.]

[Jack blinked one eye at a time, glancing around the room as if that would have some kind of answer to Natale's question. It took him a solid 30 seconds before he could muster up an answer. Looked as if he just forgot he was alive for a moment before coming back.]

"I..don't fuckin know, honestly. Got put in here a while ago, passed out for a while, then woke up n just..continued sittin here. Waitin for my doom."

[Jack shrugged. For all he knew, it could've only been days and he would have no clue. Or weeks or months or..years. Jack didn't want to consider that last one. Surely somebody would check up on him in that time frame.]

Have you talked to anyone since then? Like...anyone from outside?

(Being alone and waiting to inevitably die must suck. Natale can't imagine what that's like.)

[He added, though there was an underlying bitterness in his tone.]
