milky, ivory moonlight shines through the cracks appearing in the dark clouds. it shines across his face, catches his att- ention and his whistle turns back into a hum as he glances upwards as the waning moon is revealed, along with stars that wink playfully down at him.
a smile curls at his lips. it’s then he hears someone else, a- nother voice adding onto his own. they harmonize as they hum, as if they’ve done this together for years. he can’t see who it is, but there’s a familiar presence in the air.
heart in his throat, eyes wide and hopeful, he finally stops once more and he waits.
{{ The harmonization is perfect, the notes matching as if done hundreds of times before. Her pace picked up, the force she felt rapidly growing familiar.
She turned the corner and there he stood, waiting. It's him. She has no doubts about it. She beams, feeling tears prick at her eyes, and nearly ran to him. Arms wrapped around him, smacking against his guitar case before tucking under it, pulling him in for a tight embrace, laughter tumbling from her lips.
And just like that, she felt that hole in her chest fill, euphoria and absolute adoration taking up the empty space. She felt lighter, like she was back in the heavens instead of on this heavy globe. Small pinpoint stars rose around them, her doing, violet in color. }}
