On the Introduction to the Text [compiler's note]

The introduction to 'Elvin History in Primary Sources' (hereafter EHPS) details one of the author's long-standing concerns about Elvin society, which she continues to express throughout the rest of her great historical work. Talle's statement that the Elves are 'a forgetful folk' is, according to her, the reason behind her undertaking of writing EHPS. This aspect of Elvin nature, as well as Elvin social and political practice, was evident in the first reception of EHPS as well, which labelled it controversial rather than one of the greatest Elvin works of history as it later became known, and resulted in Talle being placed in an informal exile to the Ogrish city of Ravagog, in which she furthered her research, but became somewhat withdrawn from the already-small Elvin sphere of academia.

This might sound incredibly dumb, but hear me out: they both have the same combination of abilities (polyglot + conjurer) which no one else in the Lost Cities has), and they both have a connection to the trolls.

I know Gisela's blond, and Cadence isn't, but you know how easy it would be for someone (an elf in particular) to change their appearance? "Oh, what about their voices?" Gisela can mimic voices AND SO CAN CADENCE. Remember in book 2 when Gisela hit Keefe in the head with a rock? Her voice was disguised so he wouldn't know it was her. SHE COULD DO THE EXACT SAME THING IF SHE WERE TO CHANGE HER CHARACTER COMPLETELY

Cinder: Maradona (she knows ball), but cheers for Japan in the current World Cup.

Kai: Watches men's football because he genuinely enjoys the game, but doesn't actually know much about it. However, he's an avid feminist, so the second someone asks who his favourite player is, he starts listing female footballers instead and goes on a rant about how the people who call themselves "true" football fans are actually larpers because they don't care about women's football.

Scarlet: Mbappé, because she's French. Thinks the dictator memes are completely absurd because he's literally just trying to do his job. Also believes Messi is FIFA's princess and that the last World Cup should've belonged to France.

Wolf: Whatever Scarlet thinks. But he loves the Haaland memes.

Thorne: Used to think Neymar's back injury against Colombia was the saddest thing to ever happen in football. Was also one of the people who insisted the cheating allegations with his pregnant wife were fake right up until the news came out. Now claims Messi has always been his favourite player.

Cress: Lamine Yamal. Has a tiny bit of a crush on him.

Winter: Doesn't have a favourite player, but always roots for the smaller, lesser-known teams during the World Cup.

Jacin: Haaland. He genuinely lets out an unmanly giggle every time someone tries to tackle him and fails. He also likes to rewatch that clip of the Armenian player ending up on a stretcher after attempting to tackle Haaland and pretends it's Thorne.

i mean, it's to be expected since we get SO limited expressions and sides to her but still
