The dissonance between how Angelval is depicted in the show vs Crew/fandom reminds me of that infamous clip where Amir flat out calls Valentino a rapist and everyone gets really quiet and uncomfortable.

In regards to how they handle the whole Valentino and Angel thing. Viv literally could've genuinely saved her ass if they didn't make Valentino a pimp. Like it wouldn't undo everything but literally just make him Angel's shitty ex boyfriend film director.
Because it very much is clear Viv and crew cannot handle tackling storylines like this and instead of admiring that and backtracking they are trying to do both ideas which ends up doing much more irl harm. Especially when male victims in media already are RARELY treated as victims both in media and irl.
Frankly I might get a tiny bit of respect if the crew admitted they weren't equipped to fully handle the topic and were stepping back from it. Like first of all Blitzo isn't a sex worker and even if he was dear fucking Christ these people imply that its okay to SA sex workers. But they somehow don't realize what they are actually saying. There is so much I've seen in how irl consent discussion by Hellaverse fans genuinely scare me but I don't want this ask to go on forever.
So I don't want people when discussing how Viv handles her consent in her works or "toxic yaoi" is just fictional and we shouldn't react strongly. When I am seeming grow ass people do this shit and it's because of Viv and her crew. I would almost be forgiving if crew could take criticism and realized what she accidentally created but no one wants to instead they just wanna hide away and not acknowledge the damage their actions are doing. I can't confirm or deny if that's true but I do know that Val dipping Lucifer was added for shipping fuel because one of the animators/storyboard artists mentioned it on Twitter. I don't like how ship focused the fandom and even the staff can be because it starts to feel like "jingling keys" for romance craving adults. Shippers don't need manufactured moments to make a pair, that never stopped people from shipping characters from completely different priorities.
