Inktober - Day three Acorn Witch She's a nice art teacher, but don't ever try to go through her things without her permission or you'll surely meet some of her pets. 🐍 The hard part of this one was clearly drawing her hand. I spent way too much time on it, until I realized I was drawing it on the wrong side. Suddenly, it became way easier! 😅

Inktober - Day two Black Rose Witch I wasn’t inspired by rosemary, so I decided to go with roses instead. 🌹

Her sheer dress is supposed to have a lacey - flowers pattern but I didn’t want to do it with ink, so it will have to wait until I paint it!

The harder part for this one was accepting that I didn’t have enough time for all the details I wanted and that I needed to simplify her if I wanted to finish her today.

Inktober - Day one Lavender Witch She may look more like a magical girl than a witch, but don't let it fool you. Perfume are her hobby, but she's first and foremost a poison expert. 🌸 The "accepting that not everything has to be perfect" part was pretty hard today, there are a lot of details I don't really like (specially because the paper betrayed me and there are a lot of pencils stains). But in the end, I actually really like her! I may ink her again later on another paper, but mostly just to be able to paint her on a non - stained paper.

2008vs2018

Years might not be the exact ones because I don't really remember when I drew what, but basically, here's a good comparison showing my progress in the last 10 years !

I tried to compare similar types of art, so traditional vs traditional and digital vs digital.

In 2008, I was using Gimp for my digital art, and at the moment, I’m mostly using Clip Studio Paint and Krita (I obviously used the airbrush tool way too much in 2008 ^^’ )

My old ones weren’t *that* bad, but I really improved and I’m pretty proud of my progress.

I know I’m still improving and I hope my art will keep getting better !

Today, more about my Yellow Witch! 💛💛💛 (You can see the other three here 😉 ) For her, the only things I had in mind at the beginning were the horns and the pentacle. Her hair was a bit dull at first, so I decided to give her a fire under hair! 🔥 The bra really gave me a hard time. At first I wanted it all black. Then all yellow. But nothing really worked.

And then a friend suggested scales and it was just the perfect idea!

As you can see, I did two separated sketches, one for her face, on for her body, and then two more sketches for the details!

Today, let's focus of my blue witch! 💙💙💙 (You can see the other three here 😉 ) At first, I wanted to give her tattoos everywhere on her body, so that they would be visibles under the transparent dress, but it was a bit too much, so I mostly put them on her face and I prefer her that way 😊 She was supposed to have a silver background, but a few changes with the other made me change it for a golden background and it's actually way better that way!

As you can see, I did two separated sketches, one for her face, on for her body, and then some more sketches for each witch, working on their different details!

I’ve been working on those cuties for two weeks and now they’re finally done!

At first, I wanted to try linocut, but it would have been my first time so I thought it would a bit too complex. And so, I decided watercolor and golden/silver ink would be perfect!

I wanted to draw the same girl, but with small changes every times.  I tried a lot of things (really, a lot! ^^° ) and finally I went for this four.

The only design I was sure about from the start was the purple one. I wanted her to be that way! I wanted the red to have blood tears, the yellow one to have horns and the blue one to have some strange make up on her face.  The rest was decided (after maaaaany changes) on the way. The red one was supposed to have black eyes (fully black) to contrast with the blue one, but then I tried this strange white eyes and they happen to be perfect!

And so, here they are! I reaaaaaaally love them. It was a really important project for me and I’m (almost) completely happy of what I did.

II - The High Priestess

I finally finished the tarot card I've been working on for a while!

So here's the very pretty Blan _dinde (from Twitter) as the High Priestress! Again, there is volume (on the flower, the book and the glasses) and nice golden and silver effects that unfortunately can't be seen on the scanned version
