TheExtras - Opening Night
“TheExtras” is a series of portraits based on 1990’s caricature and the culture created from 1990’s cartoons. The subjects chosen are the space filler characters from our favorite 90’s cartoons like Rocko’s Modern Life, Cat Dog, Animaniacs, Ahh! Real Monsters, Recess, etc . These characters are not necessarily essential to the plot in their respective programs; however they are vital in creating the playful ambiance that is associated with 1990’s cartoons. Often overlooked and always under appreciated,“TheExtras”sheds light on the humble characters that are indirectly responsible for creating the feelings of nostalgia related to 1990’s cartoons.
