— BACKGROUND. 

arysn irvine used to be charles irvine. charles grew up in an extremely wealthy and powerful family, and their whole life, they were expected to be one thing – the man to follow in his father’s footsteps, to be a business tycoon just like him. they were expected to act in a certain way at their events and galas, and to hold up a certain image to the public. so their life became pretty mechanical – if you asked them now, they’d say they were robbed of a real childhood. by the age of 15, charles began to figure out more and more of their identity. for starters, they were beginning to explore their attraction towards boys. not long after that, by 17 years old, charles began to fuck around with makeup, and feminine clothes. but of course, all of this was done on the down-low – at that time, they were still worried about what their parents would do if they smudged a single part of their public image. but something flipped like a switch, when charles turned 18. they declared that charles was dead! and gave themselves the name of arsyn – an ode to arson, of course, because their crazy ass was fascinated with fire. they even managed to legally change it themselves, through some bribery and forgery – although, their family would still call them charles, and they would refuse to refer to them by their proper pronouns. arsyn pushed back; they stopped giving a fuck about who they kissed in public, or what they looked like with the makeup and clothes, and started partying hard. your basic rebel child trope, except it was years of repressed truth finally bubbling to the surface.

this behaviour angered their father – their mother, of course, was a shell of a woman she used to be, with the years of being married into the irvine family. she had no personality beyond her husband, and arsyn stopped believing her when she told them your father is just doing what’s best for you. so, with thanks to their connections, they had some help in breaking into their trust fund early, took all the money, and stepped onto the first plane without even looking where it led. they ended up in magnetic island, and they were almost attached to this place in a way that they couldn’t explain.

 although they had big plans for themself in breaking into the hollywood acting scene, perhaps being the lead and favored actor for the local theatre on the island and occasionally on the mainland would do just fine for now. seven years later, arsyn still had no plans to move — and they certainly wanted to be nowhere near manhattan. 

— PERSONALITY. 

arsyn embodies the name that they have chosen – they have an extremely fiery personality, and they tend to burn the people around them. 

they can be quite manipulative and blunt, most of the time. it boils down to selfishness, and everything they do goes back to their own entertainment. they seldom care about the feelings of anyone they might have hurt along the way.

speaking of seldom, arsyn was a different person if they cared about you. his friends and found family get the softer side of them – the loyal one, that wouldn’t hesitate to hurt anyone that hurt their friends. but if anyone said that to them, they’d deny it. 

 they’re a huge flirt. all they wanna do is get to know people and sleep with them – they have never been in a real relationship before, and nor are they interested in one. 

 they can be kinda short-tempered, and it comes out in nasty ways. they’re very eccentric, and love to be the centre of attention in every room they walk into. it’s rare that they show up to any event without trying to steal the spotlight, whether it’s through their obscure makeup or to be the talk of the night through their actions.
