I feel like Will probably wouldnt confess to Mike during the episodes as they need to brainstorm plans to defeat the monsters, and also fight them during all the episodes. So it’ll be a difficult time, therefore kind of inappropriate to input the confession or anything romantic, unless it’s accidental or Vecna outing Will.

Since Mike was with El for such a long time, even if he’s closeted he might need some time to think and consider as well as he’s never been in this position AND he may have internalised phobia.

Reason why Byler MAY be canon is because when Will had his powers, Mike GEEKED OUT over it as you can see in Vol 2 trailer (and of course MANY other reasons) . Which means it brought out his inner child, but when he was with El, he pushed that away because he taught he “grew up” and like he said to Will “do you think we’re gonna play DnD forever in my basement and not have girlfriends”.

Lucas and Max also grew up quick alongside with Mike and El. Except Max keeps herself and Lucas grounded and realistic. Whereas El and Mike were just attached to the hip since they were apart for such a long time in S2, which probably created an attachment issue.

Therefore, Will brought out his inner child, which probably means something but im not sure. Wanted to just point it out because its cute as hell.

I feel like the most appropriate timing for Will and Mike to talk about their feelings is when everything ends. But who knows what Vecna would do, also Robin may be Will’s wingman so who knows what she’ll say to Mike.
