You know what, I'm just going to say it: Shinji Ikari Raising Project > Mainline Evangelion.

Not because I don't appreciate the themes of Eva, but because from what I've read of Shinji Ikari Raising Project is just nice and fluffy.

I remember that on official japanese KareKano site was listed a book of psychological analysis of manga with a small explanation. One of the conlclusions of the book was that while not fully aware of psychological mechanisms under all that, Masami Tsuda as shoujo mangaka was able to accurately (as much as it possible for entertainment) portray psychological trauma.

Maybe she also portrayed something that she wasn't fully aware of.

I also hate manga ending. It would be redeemed for me if GAINAX made Sakura Souichiro Raising Project (I allude to Shinji Ikari Raising Project, a well existing game) with player as Asaba and a ton of different endings, some of them being real ugly and some of them being real pretty (just like in Shinji Ikari Raising Project).
