The bells of Taveril’domaine ring like death that day. A grim heaviness hangs in the air, as though those aimless currents hold their breath for what is yet to come. To anyone who has spent time upon Ersis or heard their tales, they would be forgiven for mistaking the sound for the Rapture come at last.

It’s Petrel Raverne, and… fucking hell, where do I start.

Silence Station’s gone more underground after the little stunt that happened on TV during New Years. Partially because it exposed them for who they are, and partially because of the much, MUCH bigger spanner in the works that’s come up. 

… There’s really no good way to put this, and I’m sure it’s the real elephant in the room for many folks on Ersis, so for those who still don’t know the news, I’m just gonna spit it out.

Marchosias Aversen is the new Emperor of the Dekn. He assassinated Xerinos Redgrave and took full control of the entire Dekn Empire. He’s been ousting a few folks, putting his people in, slowly… restructuring the entirety of Dekn civilization, I fucking guess. 

Chances are this is probably gonna make the War between Arkn and Dekn break out from the stalemate it’s in into something horrible. Meaning more projects like, well, the December Project, the very same one that hurt my friends, that Andras used to engineer poisons, biochemical agents and shit for war. 

Speaking of Andras, let’s talk about Andras, huh? 

I beat a hasty-ass retreat after he used his powers on himself in front of me. It was only through Lutin’s posts that I found out that For’ende had the bright idea to put Andras’s eye in his head right as that damn Morit’sengr Invokare activated, and it affected BOTH of them. For’ende got the backlash of it, the faint echoes, but Andras? He used the full weight of his power on himself. Still alive, but… who knows what the hell that’s doing to his head, alongside those words that Pascal D’Aramitz was spreading on his radio. 

Which, by the way, continue to plague both Arkn and Dekn alike. One of the rival branches of the Miran’khai that me and my people have been going up against broke down the other day because their leader got too caught up in all the horrible words getting thrown around in his head and tried to project his thoughts to everybody as forcefully as he possibly could so “we can all lay in the same, beautiful grave.” 

Unfortunately, this caused one of his lackeys to slice his head off and now it’s total bedlam over there, so… yay that they’re gone, but yikes that they’re gone? I’m not sure how I’m feeling about it. I’m not sure how I’m feeling about any of this. It’s paradoxically gone way slower and way faster than it should have.

I got For’ende out of there. We’re in a safe place, recovering, and he’s… he’s still got those words kicking around in his head, too. He’s quieter than before. Doesn’t talk about his interests much. Doesn’t respond to much of anything. I’m just… I’m trying to find busywork for us both so we can keep our heads down.

Faust left his training slash rehab with Redgrave a few months ago. Seems the situation in Avantas’tol has gotten to the point where they need extra hands on deck, and the second-in-command of the entire Arkn realm, Israfel, has personally stepped in to declare Faust the viable successor to Tabbris Irinith, now that Sevar’khai’s murked. 

… we don’t know what the fuck is gonna happen. How do I say what the fuck is going to happen from here?

And my fiancé… well. That’s a story for another time, and another place.
