I'm Not Going To Take It Anymore
Capitalism is not evil.
It is not uncommon for the unabashed capitalist to be accused of cold-heartedness, selfishness, or ignorance. Or worse. We are lectured, even in otherwise polite company, and told to spend a minute in someone elseâs shoes, try to understand where they are coming from. After some dining companionsâ latest clumsy rendition of this belaboured theme, I realised it had been a long time since I dived into progressive ideology. So, I embarked that following morning on an adventure to try to better understand the heart and mind of the obliviously gormless liberal. (Just to be safe, I did this on an empty stomach.) At first, I was a little afraid to read their manifestos and their magazines. Afraid that my cherished values would be rendered illogical or tarnished. What if I stared into the abyss, and the abyss turned me into a social justice warrior or worse - an environmental activist?
The horror. I need not have worried a single hair on my free-market loving head. I dipped my toes into a steaming pile of Paul Krugmanâs condescending sermons in the New York Times, in which he adamantly defends and advocates various policies and pogroms that unambiguously resulted in poverty, stagnation and death. I risked my sanity by subjecting myself to a series of Nancy Pelosiâs confident babbling, a collection of confused and bizarre live recorded appearances. I tiptoed down the dingy virtual halls of The Huffington Post, and reluctantly studied the latest skid marks printed in Rolling Stone. I wandered further into the fascist bowls of the progressive movement, almost Al Sharpton low, but drew the line at Piers Morgan, Sheryl Crow, andâŚFrance. Never go full retard. After my dangerous forays into more sinister philosophies such as socialism, statism, and the ironically named progressivism, any lingering uncertainty of their base immorality evaporated like a thin fog under a warming early morning sun. Something became very clear: Progressive liberalism is a mental disorder. There is no other explanation that makes sense. Progressives are masters of delusion, curators of poverty, and pimps of blame. Their twisted worldview is wrapped up in tired platitudes and empty slogans. And if you disagree, you are either not paying attention, or you are of the âfor thee but not for meâ cabal. I wonder. There must be a few brave psychologists somewhere running some quiet studies on the grand illusions of progressives. Maybe one day ten years from now the results will be made public and we will all look back and say we knew the whole time, and send a big bouquet of flowers to Paul Krugmanâs padded room where he sits, mumbling almost incoherently about how Japanâs stagflation was a big mistake and not a good example of Keynesian economics.
Their Solution To Everything
âThe only way to achieve these ends is government,â Schumer said. âThe private sector left on its own cannot.â
Sigh.
You Can't Fix Government With More Government

For the Social Good
Out of the ten people I followed so far, I just unfollowed one. They lost me at "Social Good". Ugh.
Schadenfreude Episode I
From Fire Andrea Mitchell: "Julie Bosman, the New York Times liberal hack who published Darren Wilsonâs address is now begging for police protection as she fears for her life. Julie Bosman, Iâd like to introduce you to something we call karma."
i have always loved everything about this photograph
Gives me chills.
Forks in the Road
It is pretty clear that America has generally chosen the path toward bigger government, deeper bureaucracy, and less freedom at every fork in the road. As the once great country veers further and further left, it turns ever closer to a cliff. If America slips over the edge, I am afraid it will be too late to save. Can't you feel the ground below your feet crumbling with every step in this direction?
#Unconstitutional
How is it unconstitutional? So the Republics cans just do unconstitutional things without any consent? Â He is finally taking charge, because them dick heads donât want to support him on something that will make this country better. He is a real presidentâ unlike those other liars. Good job Obama.Â
Have you ever heard of the Constitution? Â Did you know it outlines the powers of the Executive Branch (thatâs the branch heir leader Obama is in btw)? Â You didnât? Â Do you think he just has the magical powers to do whatever he wants on any issue just because some pesky Republicans donât support his agenda? Â Well, let me teach you what it says. Â I highlighted some important parts:
Article II:
Section 2
The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States; he may require the opinion, in writing, of the principal officer in each of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices, and he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.
He shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court, and all other officers of the United States, whose appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by law: but the Congress may by law vest the appointment of such inferior officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the courts of law, or in the heads of departments.
The President shall have power to fill up all vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate, by granting commissions which shall expire at the end of their next session.
Section 3
He shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in case of disagreement between them, with respect to the time of adjournment, he may adjourn them to such time as he shall think proper; he shall receive ambassadors and other public ministers; he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed, and shall commission all the officers of the United States.
Nowhere in Article II does it say that the President may overwrite or rewrite existing law because he wants to âtake charge, because dick heads donât want to support him on something that will make this country better."  If you want a supreme leader like that, may I suggest taking up a "real President" in a country like Cuba or North Korea becauseâŚ
Don't forget, as long as the president is doing something these people agree with, they are okay with his overstepping the boundaries. If it were a Republican president forcing a right-wing agenda, these same people would be screaming bloody murder and waving a constitution around.

The best use of the FCC in the modern worldâor, indeed, the world of decades pastâis to hold a pillow over its face until it stops twitching. Once gone, it wonât be available as a bludgeon for ignorant (or opportunistic) politicians to use to inflict damage on a world they donât understand (or donât respect).
J.D. Tuccille (via timlebsack) Oh, how I wish more people today watched Milton Friedman's classic series, "Free To Choose". The clothes and hairstyles in those videos from 1980 may be dated, but the ideas feel even more relevant today than they were then.

It Used to Mean Something
In 1976, Milton Friedman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Science. In 2008, the prize was given to Paul Krugman. These are two men so ideologically different each would be listed as the other's antonym in a thesaurus.
I do not know exactly when the once glorious Nobel Prize began to rust and rot. I do know that today, it has been so utterly befouled by political correctness, wishful thinking, and politics, that one fully expects to find it picked up by Streets and Sanitation if left curbside.
Half the worldâs grief is caused by irresponsible egotists who think they have a divine mission to be responsible for others.

Even the artist's furious brush strokes cannot fully hide his latent darkness behind the pastel facade. A self portrait is, after all, an exercise in honesty.

Stay Classy: Part II
The relatives of Thomas Duncan, Ebola vector, have quickly made the most of their âlossâ. http://tinyurl.com/prqdqne
I have questions.
To the Duncan Relatives,
Did Thomas Duncan lie to you as well as U.S. immigration authorities about his exposure to Ebola?
To the relatives who were in direct contact: when it was officially determined Duncan did have Ebola, were you afraid for your own life?
Do you truly believe Duncan received inferior treatment because of racism, as some of you have publicly stated?
Do you think some of the proceeds of your settlement should go toward the costs incurred during treatment of the two people infected by Duncan?
It has been mentioned that you would like a book or movie made based on Duncan's life and death. How would you write the part where he committed immigration fraud and knowingly risked the lives of many other people in order to access the U.S. healthcare system?
If you had contracted Ebola from Duncan and survived, would you currently be in discussions with attorneys to sue the beneficiaries of Duncan for your pain, suffering, and medical costs?
Just wondering.

Stay Classy: Part I
The relatives of Thomas Duncan, Ebola vector, have quickly made the most of their "loss". http://tinyurl.com/prqdqne
I have questions.
To Les Weisbrod, Attorney,
The relatives of the deceased have expressed the hope that the story of Thomas Duncan may be made into a book or movie. As relatives and beneficiaries of the settlement, I imagine they would expect to also profit from any film, TV, or book projects based on the deceased's story.
Thomas Duncan lied about his exposure to Ebola when entering the United States, and therefore committed immigration fraud. Should Duncan's relatives benefit from his crime?
I would also love to know if the proceeds of the settlement will help cover the cost of care of the two nurses infected by Duncan.
If you didn't have a conflict of interest, would you be tempted to represent the nurses who may be eligible for damages from their pain and suffering?
