Little Sis Alexis Spight released a beautiful song entitled ‘Oh To Be Black.’ It’s a song celebrating Black humanity, Black beauty, Black dignity, and Black existence.

I posted a video in the whip bumping the song and look at the responses from the children of the chalk…

Not thoughtful disagreement. Not substantive critique. Just racism, obsession, sexual perversion, insults, and anger.

Imagine being so triggered by Black people affirming themselves that your mind immediately runs to pornography, stereotypes, hatred, and hostility.

Hellman’s hellions cannot tolerate Black joy, Black pride, Black excellence, or Black self-love without exposing what’s really in their hearts.

A song affirming Black humanity shouldn’t provoke this kind of vitriol.

But when racism is your identity, even a song becomes a threat.
