Awiel Makes Da Art

Some old Photoshop studies/practices when I was trying to figure out how the shit to blend and spent hours (and hours) (and hours) blending. It was vaguely meditative, but a fuckin fantastic waste of time! TBH I still have no idea what I’m doing. Whatever! Who cares! I like flat colors, anyway! But you gotta branch out and try new things every now and then, right?

Wow hello, did this a couple years ago... lordt. The college I went to has a really radical and well put-together art & lit zine called The Coraddi and I was commissioned to create a cover (and some small interior illustrations)! I don’t do digital art too often but I’d been trying to get into it at the time. It was a lot of fun! Hi! Holy guacamole it’s been literally Five Million Goddamn Years since I last posted anything. Time to do a little catching up? Maybe?  ¿ ¿ ¿ This was a gift for one of my best buds of her D&D character, Ilena. Who doesn’t love drow? Ilena wasn’t entirely evil (by drow standards) and had a pretty tragic backstory that fueled her sometimes uncontrollable bloodlust (murdermurdermurder), so the idea wasn’t to make her look wicked but more neutral with a touch forlorn. And, like my friend, she's a hell of an archer. I think this was about 24″x36″ so it was a bit of an undertaking, especially considering how little I draw these days, but... I accomplished a thing! FIGHTING! ( •̀ᄇ• ́)ﻭ✧

Had some old WIP pics on my phone, back when I made the two ceramic busts. Initially the first bust had antlers (yes I'm so full of original ideas) but they fell the fuck off, you can see where they were. Covered that business up with glaze. The second one was originally upright but it collapsed. I was thinking of just leaving it like that and hollowing it out... half because it looked sorta neat, half because I'm a lazy good-for-nothing shit... buuuut I decided not to risk a crummy grade and polished it. I wish I hadn't. So it goes :T

These are some sculptures I made in a ceramics class during my last semester of college. Finally postin' 'em! I don't really know jack shit about sculpture, but it was a great learning experience! I'd say I'd like to work more in clay but uhhh honestly wow it's a pain in the patootie; everything is heavy and messy and dirty and don't get me started on glazing! Too stressful. I got mad respect for sculptors
