After dropping off the fresh uniform, tea, and food for Piper, Rory had hung around the ICUâs waiting area from for a bit keeping the other company. She hated that she had to leave for her appointment, even if she knew sheâd only be gone an hour tops. Once she had finished with her appointment, the plan was to make a beeline back to the waiting area; however, she was stopped as a familiar face caught her attention. Tightening her cardigan around her frame both because she was cold and in an attempt to keep the heart monitor sheâd been given to wear for the next week hidden, the petite brunette forced a small smile as her sister rushed towards her. âHi Ari.â She signed. It was clear she wasnât gonna be her usual ray of sunshine self at the moment.Â
It took not even a second for Ariadne to see the difference in her little sister. The smile was too forced and the sunshine that Rory usually radiated, just wasnât there. Her mouth turned quite quickly into a frown. âSomething wrong?â Dumb question. There was certainly something wrong. She shoved her pen into the pocket of her coat, making it easier for her to sign more clearly. Her eyes flicked back to the station, painfully aware of the fact that she couldnât hang around very long. Even if she really wanted too.
