DIY Small Downstairs Toilet
A toilet isn't the most glamourous to decorate yet somehow it's turned out to be the best room in the house, well in my opinion anyway.
So where did we even begin?
We decided not to paint the walls a dark colour because the room is so small and narrow we wanted it to seem light and spacious.. As much as possible anyway. So we went for a light green and white and bordered the walls with wood panels, it costs an absoloute fortune to buy the paneling so was all done individually by hand.
There was no way we were keeping the old toilet system so we went for something a lot smaller and modern. We couldn't decide on what we were going to do about the sink as there was not one previously but I feel this is essential for a toilet, so after a lot of searching we managed to find a wall mounted basin it's very small but looks great and does the job.
To make the shelves we upcycled old wood from a forest that was originally a bench believe it or not.. It was in pieces and marked to be removed. So we helped ourselves.. It took a lot of sanding and hard work removing huge rusty nails but how great do they look?
To finish all you need are beautiful decor bits, I have made a picture from an old gardening book, and added some small plants and pots.
