#i don't remember exactly how i learned it #but i vividly remember one of the first times i heard it used #dnd campaign brought our party to the hells #and there was an inn called The Defenestrated Paladin #which we all found very amusing

So!

We were taking some boxes of leftovers home from a local grill and my mom went up to ask the cashier for a sack to put them in. The cashier became very confused, and, after some back and forth, finally said "oh! a bag!" and got Mom the plastic grocery bag she wanted.

My mom thanked her and asked, "what does 'sack' mean to you?"

And the cashier said "Like a potato sack." (By which I assume she means burlap?)

So now I'm curious.

BUT #when buying these for retail use i've seen them called both “t-shirt bags” and “t-sacks”#because when you lay them flat they look like shirts!#my dad's called them “t-sacks” my whole life though #so for me they're the one exception to the Sacks Don't Have Handles rule
