the desert haze never rose, always a constant curtain across the world. kanna watches the movement from afar, fingers caressing the black barrel of her rifle, eyes narrowing as the man walks closer.

something was off. kanna couldn't put her finger on it, shifting up, watching closer.

something wasn't right. he enters the building and the air stills around him. kanna's bones ach and her skin prickles, hairs tightening on her arms and fingers choking the metal of her gun.

danger. danger. danger!

kanna flicks her knife out from her sleeve, turning on the rafters to keep him in sight. his voice was soft and joyful, but nothing could ever change that fact that he was a predator and she was cornered.

she drops down , knife at the ready. ❛ you're that . . . man from the posters around the town. vash the humanoid typhoon. ❜

❛      need help opening that jar?     ❜      annoyed yet soft hum as black hands suddenly take the jar from her with no real warning.   strong hands break open the jar as if it was a mere cardboard cage.   lips pucker into a cocky smile as knees settle down to kanna’s height.    ❛      you are helpless.     ❜     icing on top of the sour cake.

fingers tightened around the strap of her treats bag as she inched a step closer to the teen. though the area seemed well-lit with the soft marigold glow of the lampposts , now that she noticed it , there were absolutely NO OTHER children who were passing by the street. the SILENCE was definitely eerie. ❛ d-do you think there are ghosts there ? ❜

ALL   HALLOW'S   EVE

kanna   doesn't   exactly   have   any   sort   of   special   attachment   or   interest   in   the   holiday.   but   once   she   made   her   family   and   friends,   she   slowly   begins   to   learn   about   it.   before,   her   days   were   filled   with   just   trying   to   survive,   and   it   never   matted   what   day   it   was.   now,   when   she   can   relax,   she   learns   how   to   carve   pumpkins,   begins   to   try   to   make   costumes   and   even   goes   trick   -   or   -   treating.   

her   favorite   part   was   the   candy.   she   especially   loved   the   candy   corns.   she   doesn't   exactly   have   a   sweet   tooth,   but   they're   fun   sized,   and   easy   to   hide   in   the   folds   of   her   clothes   -   so   she   liked   them.   but   before   it,   she   liked   it   because   it   was   so   easy   to   kill.   nobody   would   really   question   the   disappearance,   or   someone   dragging   a   body   away,   brushing   it   off   as   a   halloween   decoration.   and   she   liked   wearing   masks,   especially   the   scary   ones.   

she      had      been      to      the      kingdom      often,      watching      the      humans      mingle      as      she      stuck      to      the      shadows.      she      knew      she      didn’t      belong.      that      had      never      bothered      her.      she      tucked      her      legs      under      her      body,      sitting      on      the      barrel.      her      dress      was      ripped      at      the      ends,      from      running      through      the      forest.      the      mud      stains      on      her      feet      and      knees      told      a      tale      her      words      could      not.      she      looked      up      in      time      to      catch      sharp      gold      eyes.      her      own      widened      and      she      slipped      from      the      barrel      to      follow      the      human.      

he      entered      the      castle      through      the      front      gate      and      kanna      climbed      the      walls      with      ease.      finding      him      within      the      halls      was      easy,      the      old      man      constantly      calling      his      name      and      berating      him      -      hisirdoux.      kanna      slipped      in      after      the      old      man      left      and      the      boy,      hisirdoux,      was      alone.      she      climbed      the      table      and      he      turned      in      surprise      at      her      hand      on      his      shoulder.      her      fingers,      small      and      soft,      pressed      into      his      cheeks      and      her      pointer      fingers      tugged      at      his      eyelids.      she      shifted      her      body      into      a      crouch      and      grinned,      her      eyes      flashing      a      bright      green      before      her      human      form      slipped      away.      

dull      in      color,      a      deep      blue,      almost      black      skin,      with      a      long      tail      and      white      fluff      at      the      end.      her      horns      curled      around,      like      a      ram’s      and      was      a      shiny      ivory,      nearly      matching      with      her      short      hair.      her      fingers      were      now      padded,      like      a      cat’s,      and      as      she      pressed,      claws      slid      out      to      barely      nick      the      boy’s      soft      flesh.      her      eyes      were      wide      and      a      solid      green      with      slitted      pupils.      her      mouth      full      of      small      fangs      as      she      brought      her      face      closer      to      hisirdoux’s.

BABA YAGA

In Slavic folklore, Baba Yaga is a supernatural forest witch who usually appears as a decrepit old woman. She varies between acting as a benefactor and a villain, either helping the hero of the Slavic myth or hindering them. Baba Yaga is also cast as a Mother Earth figure, having an influence on the natural world. You are multifaceted and adaptable. You show many faces to the world depending on what is needed. DOVE.   petals.  jealousy.   being tired of living with the same old faces.   whispered secrets.   marble.   sundresses.   white clothes.   the first sunset of winter.   pride in who you are.   learning to get over someone.

SEAGULL.   family.   golden light.   the sea murmuring in your ear.  summer afternoons.   caramel ice cream.  collecting seashells and other things and calling them treasures.   living breezy and carefree.   swimming in the sunlight.

CANARY.   artistic.   getting excited easily.   dancing and singing while you are alone.   looking at your friends having fun.   no phone.   being afraid of judgment.   spring.   a meaningful gift.   the first ray of sunlight.

light  gray  eyes  flickered  up  from  the  edge  of  the  round  carpet  in  the  living  room.  kanna  hadn’t  exactly  been  invited  to  the  group,  but  word  travels  fast,  especially  in  trollmarket          -          not  that  it  was  hard  to  get  in.  she  twists  her  lips  into  a  frown.  she  didn’t  like  this  plan,  the  overbearing  man  before  her  exuding  more  faux  confidence  than  any  human  she  knew  before.  ❝          james.          listen  to  me.          ❞      she  steps  forward,  setting  her  hand  on  the  boy’s  shoulder          -          and  that’s  all  he  really  was.  a  boy.  

❝          i’m  here  for  your  decision.          but  please  understand  that  you  can  never  know  peace  after  it.          ❞      she  may  be  an  impure,  but  jim  was  going  to  become  something  even  more.  and  for  the  first  time  in  her  many  centuries  alive,  kanna  was  afraid.
