amy (lyrica okano, 22) is a very straight-laced, bright student at nyu. she’s closed-off and stubborn, and she holds herself to incredibly high standards. because she’s such a whiz kid, she works as a tutor in the math department. naturally, she’s not a Huge Fan of the other students she’s paid to work with, but she’s just trying to collect her coin. enter kyle (who i will be calling kyle bc he gives kyle vibes), who desperately needs help with his calculus class. one day, kyle is messaging one of his many tinder matches but he’s completely stumped because the girl sent an unmarked quote from to the lighthouse and he’s never even heard of virginia woolf. so amy jokingly helps him out, telling him exactly what to send back. he does it, and suddenly the girl, summer, is over the moon with joy, and wants to go out asap. amy asks to see pictures and instantly realizes that the girl kyle is messaging is summer, one of amy’s friends whom she has had a tiny crush on for a year or so now. but amy was never really sure if summer was into girls at all, so she never acted on it. 

amy isn’t too perturbed by kyle’s scheduled date with summer. but then, kyle offers to pay amy for her services--this time, not for tutoring, but to help him woo summer over. amy could really use the money, so she represses her feelings and decides to take the job. kyle asks her to keep telling him smart stuff to say, and to praise him when she hangs out with summer. flash forward a couple of dates with dialogue completely controlled by amy’s texts to kyle, and suddenly amy is wondering why she ever agreed to do this in the first place. she’s falling more and more in love with summer by basically going on “dates” with her through kyle. so both amy and kyle are falling hard for summer, and summer has no idea. 

who knows what will happen??
