Bill felt his chest constrict. “ Excuse me? “
Dipper swam over to him and grabbed his hands in his, giving them a gentle squeeze. “ I want to harmonize with you. “
“ Why? “ The siren demanded to know, sliding his hand up his arm to cup his cheek, running his thumb over the ragged edges of the scar that stretched across the other man’s beautiful face.
“ Stop it. “ Bill hissed, grabbing his wrist.
“ Bill, “ Dipper cooed softly, “ Look at me. “
He did so reluctantly, pained by the warmth and love that he saw in his love’s eyes.
“ There is no one else in all the seven seas I want to harmonize with. “ Dipper said firmly. “ Now sing with me. “
“ My ocean pearl, you know I- “
“ Hush now, my storeen, “ Dipper sang quietly, “ Close your eyes and sleep. Waltzing the waves, diving the deep. “ He nuzzled close to the large siren, wrapping his arms around his neck, pressing their bodies together. “ The stars are shining bright, the wind is on the rise. “ He trailed off, silently urging his proposed mate to continue.
Bill took a shaking breath. Croaking, his voice deep and broken, he sang “ Whispering words, of long lost lullabies. “
Dipper smiled brightly, his cerulean scales dazzling across his cheeks, “ Oh, won’t you come with me. “
“ Where the moon is made of gold. “
“ And in the morning sun, we’ll be sailing. “
“ Oh won’t you come with me, where the ocean meets the sky. “
“ And as the clouds roll by- “ Dipper brought their foreheads together, the two slowly waltzing through the water, twirling in slow, unsure circles; Bill pressed his lips to his in a needy, desperate kiss.
They finished together with shared breath, “ We’ll sing the song of the sea.”
