i am officially moving to my new blog, @sparsilelove, now that i've gotten my access all fixed up! this blog will remain up as an archive / backup way of contacting people if things get weird again.

if you're writing with a muse of mine who is no longer listed, don't panic -- i'n most cases i am happy to finish up the thread we're working on, i'll just post replies to it from this account instead of my new one!

rafael was constantly feeling all this pressure to be perfect. he was the president's son, and he had things to uphold. but he was tired of it, of the cameras, of the secret service, of the whispers that were always about him and how he was fucking it up. so he just gave in to the shit they say and he did shit things, not helping his cause.

but even after doing drugs, and getting them from nicky, something had changed, he didn't want to be that person, and maybe nicky was trying to change himself? they were both always in their little island when it was just the two of them. and tonight that's what rafael needed.

nicky wanted to make another joke, say something stupid to lighten the mood, but he felt like maybe the mood couldn't be lightened. not that way, anyway. usually he'd pour them a drink or get something from his bag of special treats, but for some reason he held back.

closing the distance between them, nicky reached out to cup rafa's face, stroking his thumbs over the younger man's cheeks.

damian had struggled to put into words his feelings following bruce’s disappearance. on one hand, the young assassin knew his father would turn up eventually, likely all a part of some elaborate scheme to draw out the darkest corners of gotham. but on the other hand - the idea of the no one under the cowl sent a chill down his spine. he couldn’t imagine gotham without batman. there was only one person in the world damian thought could fill that role.

and everyone knew it was true. dick was the only person. damian was too young, brash and inexperienced. jason - too broken and undisciplined. tim - too unsure of himself. and to be quite honest, damian, in his inherited role as robin, wouldn’t accept anyone else other than dick.

“very batman of you, wouldn’t you think?” damian teased. “father wouldn’t want it to be anyone else. you’re the only one i’ll take orders from in the field - and even that is pushing it, grayson,” damian continued, peering up at the man he’d crushed on for years at this point. 

a week prior, jason had treated them all to a rendition of 'maria' from the sound of music, changing the lyrics to be about damian. how do you solve a problem like damian? not that dick saw him as a problem, as such. he was just ... difficult. even bruce had difficulty keeping robin in check.

"i learned from the best," dick replied, eyes still fixed on the suit in front of him. like all of them, he was deeply shaped by his time at bruce's side. it marked them all differently. dick, for his part, was never sure how to feel when he caught himself saying or doing something that was clearly from the bruce wayne playbook.
