âQuick on your feet! Nifty!â Seyeon laughed, rubbing the bridge of his nose before picking the ball up again. âThough for now sounds really ominous, noona⌠What would you need for your silence?â Was bribery the way to go? Likely not, but Seyeon hoped maybe paying for ice cream would be a good start regardless. Not that he needed it, at this point the world already knew that he was great at repping the clown emoji. âHave you been having fun this afternoon? At least a little bit?â He smiled. âThe games are a bit silly at times, no? But I think itâs sweet in a misguided kind of way that theyâre trying to make us all bond. Feels a bit like kindergarten butâŚâ He shrugged. âAre you excited to see more of Oahu?â
âNifty,â she echoed, amused by his odd choice of words. That was definitely something she had only heard in old, American sitcoms. âYou watch a lot of American sitcoms?â Eunhee asked offhandedly, before shrugging her shoulders at his question. âI donât require anything for my silence. I wonât tell anyone for now, and I mean that. Maybe in a few months when Iâm booked on another variety show, Iâll talk about it. Iâm sure your fans would love to hear the story of how you slammed a beach ball into your own face.â At his next question, she sighed. âIâm not having a bad time,â she answered vaguely. âI donât see the reason why we all need to bond. Not everyone can be friends with everyone, nor does everyone want to be. I am excited to see more of Oahu though, thatâs the best part of this trip.â

âdonât be so dramatic noona, pools get cleaned.â he huffed, diving under water again before coming back up again as if that proved his point in any way shape or from. âthe water is constantly being filtered not to mention there is like, a bunch of chemicals in there. iâd worry more about the seawater being disgusting than this.â not that yuanjun was against the thought of swimming in the sea either, he wasnât one to be squeamish about such things. even though sometimes it was probably in his best interest to be. he watched over the edge of the pool as the female got up from her seat, not able to surprise the little victorious smile as she gave in after all, even if a bit reluctantly so. at the accusation he shrugged simply. âsometimes it be like that you know?â he shot back simply. âand? i told you the water was nice right?â
âDramatic? I think Iâm the one being more realistic between the two of us.â Eunhee snorted. âDo you really think that chemicals really clean everything? Besides, the chemicals they use in pools can be just as damaging as germs.â Despite her words, she found herself getting in the pool anyway, leaning against the edge of it and not really going in any farther. She was still trying to get used to the drastic temperature change between the heat of the sunâs rays on her body versus being immersed in a body of cool water. âAt least the ocean has properties that naturally cleanses it.â Although she had a feeling that Yuanjun didnât really care too much. He was still a kid, one that found joy in splashing around in water. It was heartwarming in a way. âNo, I donât know. The water could be better, but itâll do.âÂ

there was always a sort of unspoken rivalry between all the companies which is why this joint retreat seemed even more ridiculous. hyeju was aware that deep down, each one of those ceos was thinking to themselves that they were the better out of the bunch. âtrue, but iâm also pretty sure bang is making the most money these days. your companyâs groups are doing quite well, and i know that makes byungchul furious.â she clicked her tongue before leaning forward to tap her fingers on the table. âyou can blame everything on the guy. i love seeing other groups flourish because i know it pisses byungchul off.â the distaste she had for her ceo was evident, and she wasnât afraid to talk of it.Â
Eunhee had no idea why the CEOs of all three of the companies tried to continuously push the idea that they all got along, when in reality, they wanted nothing more than to one up the other. She had to say that, out of the three, Byungchul was the most aggressive one when it came to proving himself to be the best of the three. His power moves were always blatant and obvious. Bang was a lot more subtle with her strategy, something that Eunhee couldnât help but respect immensely. And Yeongjin.. Letâs just say it was a good thing Dongwook was taking over. âI guess thatâs true.. Originâs raking in the money these days.â She chuckled. âThatâs always a good way to look at it. Besides, that wonât stop you from getting money in your pocket, right?Â

âJust leave?â Ash sounded dazed at her response. He hadnât really considered leaving without having a good reason in his back pocket to pull out if anyone decided it was rude of him to make such an early exit. For all the difficulties he had put his manager through at times because of his frequently dramatic emotional drive, he rarely failed to come up with some kind of excuse for what he was doing so he could try to cover his ass when he inevitably got in trouble. He needed to be granted some kind of unspoken permission even when he was deliberately trying to defy that expectation of him.
âOkay, we can just⌠leave.â He nodded in agreement once heâd moved past the way Eunheeâs suggestion had taken him off guard. âLeave to somewhere? Or are we just,â Ash searched for an explanation of the other option and it took him a moment to collect his thoughts into words, âjust⌠leaving? Without a plan?â
Eunhee was a little confused by how dazed and confused Ash sounded, and her eyebrows rose in question. Was there a reason that they couldnât just leave? She glanced around them, noting that there werenât any people who were particularly paying them any attention. It wasnât like they were really on anyoneâs radar at that moment, there was no reason why they couldnât slip away unscathed. Eunhee had done that many times before, sneaking away from parties and events when she became too restless and antsy to stay any longer. Sheâd never been questioned about it before, although she supposed she did have a little bit more lax rules than Ash did. Being in a group versus being a soloist really was different.Â
She chuckled at his confusion, shaking her head slightly. âJust come on.â She reached out and grabbed his arm, gently pulling him along with her. It took her a second to realize that maybe it wasnât such a good look for them to leave like that; her holding his arm. She dropped it almost immediately, shooting him a slight smile. âSorry. I just..â She shrugged. âDonât want people to get the wrong idea, you know?â Sheâd been burned before, and she wasnât trying to relive that again, especially because Ash had a much larger fanbase than the first guy it had happened with.Â

Writing music. Boy did Joo wish she had half as much confidence as Eunhee when it came to writing music or having a hand in musical production. It wasnât as though she wasnât good at itâthe older girl was good, having learnt multiple instruments and having experimented around composing her own musical scores to her whims and fancies whenever she had the free time.
Unfortunately thoughâYoungjoo didnât have as much confidence as the soloist to propose to Gold Star to put out some of her work. Joo had her own special collection of musical pieces and arrangements that she had of her own, all hidden away, stashed in a corner for her to glance through and look back upon. Some were good, some were grantedâterrible, but she had at least more than 5 years of experience of experimenting with musical composition and arrangement, justâŚwithout the courage to come forth about it.
âLyricism? Thatâs difficult.â She mumbled as she picked on the skin of her hand, shifting uncomfortably at the thought of her thick album of self composed music back in her apartments. âMe? The usualâanother failed relationship, preparing for Silhouetteâs Japan tour and..tinkering around with some musical arrangements.â The last part was added quietly, just soft enough for the other girl to hear. âI wish I had half your confidence and lack of insecurity at times.â A faint chuckle bubbles from Jooâs lips as she tossed back her hair with a snort. âFive years down the road and probably over fifty musical arrangements with the piano, and I still havenât had the courage to turn over some of my work to Gold Star to ask them to use.â Joo huffed lightly at Eunheeâs teasing words about her running into trees.
âLook.â She demanded, fully turning to face Eunhee, and nearly yelping with alarm as she teetered at the edge of the lounge chair, determined to refute her close friendâs very words. âIts not that I run into treesâtrees run into me. As do walls and cabinets, as a matter of fact.â Joo stuck out her chin, sipping on her drink. âAnd if you say anything that isnât that, Iâm gonna ignore youââ For someone her age, Joo could be rather childish at times, a culmination of the lack of her childhood and her early maturity.Â
âNot particularly.â At least it wasnât for Eunhee. Lyricism had been something that came naturally to the soloist, something sheâd been doing for years and something that a lot of people would say that sheâs only gotten better at with time. What she struggled with, though not as much as she used to when she first started writing her own music, was the production side of things. It was hard putting beats together, adding transitions and little touches to really make a song pop. Sheâd figured out the best way to do it for herself just about a year or two prior, but it still didnât come as naturally as writing did to her. âIf you write about something youâre passionate about, then itâll come a lot easier to you. Writing isnât supposed to be about thinking, itâs supposed to be about feeling.âÂ
She slid her sunglasses back down to protect her eyes from the harsh rays of the sun. âIâm sorry to hear about your relationship. I hope you find someone better suited for you.â Relationships werenât Eunheeâs forte, she rarely found herself in one, and she preferred it that way. She liked the solitude of the single life. âGood luck on your Japan tour, I know you guys are going to do great. You always do.â She turned her head to look at her, using her fingers to twirl around the straw in her drink. âHavenât you ever heard of fake it âtil you make it? You really donât think every idol is as confident as they seem, do you?â She finally took a drink. âSure, whatever helps you sleep at night.â

the pout lasted only for a few moments before he allowed himself to indulge in the food placed in front of him. perhaps it stood out a bit too much that haseon was more invested in the nourishment rather than the company around him. there were plenty of opportunities to mingle, to maybe network and create lasting friendships that will benefit him in the long run â- thatâs rough terrain, though, because thereâs nothing more tragic than having your name smeared by someone youâre only friends with for popularity. so he kept to himself for the dinner, only offering pleasantries when addressed and allowing conversations to fade out by becoming increasingly enamored with the meal.
the silence meant there was an audience, though perhaps not an intentional one. but it was an audience nonetheless. amused glances and light huffs ensued from the chastisement and haseon felt the tips of his ears warm. â what, are the dinner table manners gods going to sweep down and steal my food ? â that wouldâve only had an opportunity to happen the night before, where the more paranoid part of him was wary of seagulls ready to snatch his food away. but at least eunhee, a face he recognized but a person whom heâd never really spoken to even in spite of a shared debut year, had handed over the chow. he couldnât really be infuriated then by the minor humiliation could he ? ⌠could he ?
âOf course not,â Eunhee said lightly, her hand reaching for her glass so she could pick it up and take a quick drink from it. She wasnât particularly familiar with Haseon for the most part, even though they debuted in the same year and had been around for quite some time. Of course there were moments where they crossed paths - music shows, award shows, other high profile events, but they had never had a conversation that went past basic pleasantries. That was how most relationships went on in the idol industry. Despite fans thinking and wishing that their favorite idols were the best of friends, the harsh reality was that there was mostly indifference, if not a healthy respect, between idols and that was where it ended. âBut that doesnât mean that if you reach across the table and steal the food of the wrong person you wonât end up with a fork in your hand in response.â

june 2nd, dinner party. open!!
âso, which one of the three ceos do you think paid the most money for this shitty dinner?â hyeju had taken a seat at some random table, getting sick and tired of the fake socialization that she was being forced into. the dress that hwayoung had picked out for her was proving to be uncomfortable, and she had thrown her heels off the moment she sat down, needing some freedom from all the restriction. she leaned back into her seat in a manner that would have had her parents disappointed, and she slouched a bit more just to imagine pissing them off a bit more. âi wonder who thought up of this genius trip. forced publicity is the best kind of publicity, am i right?âÂ
Eunhee had long since decided to sit down after two hours of walking around and mingling with people. She had spent her day traipsing along a hiking trail, a bad idea on her part, because her feet were now aching in the heels sheâd been given by her wardrobe stylists. No one had bothered her until Hyeju came over, something she didnât really mind because she could have used the company. Plus, Hyeju was a good friend of hers, so she enjoyed her company way more often than not. âNormally I would say Byungchul, but Bang probably spent more just so she could prove herself to the other two. Women always need to go above and beyond just to be acknowledged over a man whoâs doing the bare minimum.â She sipped lightly at her wine. âIâm going to blame that one on your boss.â
fmdremâ:
â i always liked the idea of handmade gifts âiâm not the craftiest kid in the bunch, just know some skills in everyday life iâm probably not going to use as often as one would, but you know⌠things are always so much more meaningful when they come from your hands, with their little cracks and mistakes. â he had enough small bottles to cover mars and most of the people he loved the most âmay those vitamin shots being in a glass bottle heâs been able to wash and clean and reuseâ, with the soft rumbling of the sea being as encouraging as eunheeâs presence next to him. he really hoped she was somehow enjoying an activity that wasnât crazy wild, just fun and simple and somehow genuine in the sea of the scheduled stuff tainting what was supposed to still be considered âa vacationâ. â thank you! â larger hands moved to collect the offered seashell and have it carefully placed in the small plastic bucket heâs bought for a couple bucks nearby the residence, beaming a sunblessed smile at her. â itâs for the people i love, so i want it to be more than nice âyouâve got a favourite seashell, eunhee-ssi? â
Handmade gifts were never really Eunheeâs forte. She had tried to make them back when she was a little girl, for her parents, but they never turned out right and they always somehow ended up in the trash; either from her or her parents putting it there, although her parents never did it to her face and always asked her if she wanted to keep them. What was the point in keeping them if her parents didnât appreciate them, much like how they didnât appreciate her? âThatâs nice. Handmade gifts are the best way to show people that you want to give them something from the heart.. Even though Iâd much rather get them a gift from a store or boutique, but thatâs just me.â The fact that Eunhee even bought someone a gift was more than enough to show them that she cared about them. Seashell collecting wasnât a hobby she thought she would enjoy, but it wasnât half bad. It allowed her to get her feet a little wet, and she could enjoy the sunâs warmth. Plus the seashells were pretty too, and she liked giving people a helping hand whenever she could. âYouâre welcome.â She smiled back at him. âI donât know.. Iâve never really thought about what my favorite seashell would be. Do you have one?â

For @fmdeunhee
Joo considers it a victory for not tripping over her own two feet for the lengthy duration of the day thus far that sheâs managed to power through magnificently, without a single mishap or catastrophe. Most people would be wearing bikinis and suntanning on the beach, but Jooâshe was comfortable in her crop top and skinny jeans, hot as it may be, and despite the fact that she was wearing her bikini beneath her clothes.Â
âEunhee!â She calls, carefully balancing the drinks in her hands as she moves towards the younger girl that had already made herself home on the beach, a low groan falling from her lips as she settles onto the covered mat beside the other girl. A faint sheen of sweat already grazes her pale skin as she hands the cool cocktail fruit juice to Eunhee, taking a satisfied sip herself from the fruit cocktail that theyâd both ordered. â I asked them to go gentle on us with the alcohol. Iâd like to stay sane for the rest of the day, thank you very much.â Joo snorted into her drink lightly, wriggling her toes into the sand after stripping down from her jeans. The sun beat down on her legs, slathered with suntan lotion, whilst the upper half of her body lay within the cooling shade of the umbrella. âSay, it much be a record for me not to trip over myself for the entire day.â She lightly stirs the straw in her drink. âAnd Iâm so not looking forward to the Olympic Games.â Joo sighed lightly. â Wanna bet how many times Iâd probably trip over my own feet during the course of playing a single game? Or walk into a tree or a wall or something.â Joo gave a self-deprecating laugh as she picked on the hem of her crop top lightly with a faint sigh. âI havenât been seeing you around though lately, soâŚlife updates time I supposeâhow have you been?âÂ
Eunhee had been to Hawaii before about two or three times on her own volition. During a few of the short vacations that she was allowed to take as an artist under Gold Star, she decided that she wanted to visit the island that made everyone fall in love with it upon arrival, and she was definitely one of those people. She loved the sunny weather and the warmth; and the beach. She wasnât that big on swimming, but she did lounge in the pool sometimes and she was known for walking along the shore and letting the water get her feet and legs wet. Most of the time though, she stayed laid out on her mat, alternating between laying under her umbrella and outside of it to avoid nasty sunburn or an unattractive tan. She picked her head up when she heard a voice calling her name, looking away from the book she had been reading in Youngjooâs absence. She bookmarked her page, setting it down near her bag and sat up a little. âThanks,â she smiled, taking her drink that was handed over to her. âThat was a good idea. Todayâs not really a heavy liquor day for me.â Or any day for that matter. âIâm not looking forward to them either, but itâs not like we really have a choice..â She sighed softly to herself. âI think the games are going to be held inside of a big room, so you donât have to worry about any trees in your path,â she teased, taking a sip from her drink. âI donât really have any life updates? Iâve just been busy writing. Iâm hoping for a summer release date, but you know how much of a perfectionist I am when it comes to my music. How about you?â

starter for: open ! setting: june 3rd, 2019 location: maui, hawaiiÂ
vacations were for relaxing, spending time with friends, and having fun. so what harm would it do to indulge in a little flirting? daein would never call himself a player, he just liked having a little fun, was all. and while he wasnât cocky in the slightest, the compliments he got from fans gave him some sort of confidence that he could win one of the locals over. oh was he wrong. after sneaking off from the mass of idols accompanying him (as heâd done the majority of the trip), heâd taken to the beach to test out his charms. it may have worked in impulse, but definitely not with the woman in front of him, because as soon as he offers his number heâs told to get lost. whether itâs because of the praise by fans or pride that refused to let him admit heâd just gotten rejected, daein stood at a standstill in utter shock until the sound of another caught his attention.
spinning around, heâd expected anything but another idol to be there, staring. could this get any more embarrassing? âi-â mouth closed just as quickly as it opens, the male scratched the back of his head, dumbfounded. the last thing heâd wanted was for things to have go that way, and certainly not with an audience. âi was asking for directions!â he lies, slipping back into korean as he speaks to the other. after a brief silence, he gives up the facade and lets out an exasperated sigh. âalright, alright. how much did you see?â daein asked, near wincing.
It was their first free day of the trip, and Eunhee was planning on making the best of it. That meant that she got up early the morning of the third of the month, going about her usual morning routine, before stopping in at the breakfast bar to grab a bite to eat. That gave her the opportunity to brush up on her English speaking skills, which werenât necessarily the best. She could hold a conversation with someone, but she hadnât practiced using English verbally in quite some time, usually only using it by typing it in order to communicate with fans on social media. After conversing with the staff at the breakfast bar, she was starting to feel a little bit more confident in her English, and began to use it a little bit more frequently throughout the day, talking to a few locals and staff throughout her time participating in the activities she had chosen for herself. She had just come back from a historical site when she came across one of her label mates speaking to a local.
There were some words in English that were exchanged that she didnât really know, but she could understand more than enough to get the gist of what was happening. She had no idea what she would do in that situation. What was it like being turned down? She wouldnât know, she hadnât really asked anyone out before. Sheâd barely been in relationships before, so she wasnât well versed in things such as those, but she did feel sympathy for him. It obviously wasnât a great feeling, being rejected. She was going to slowly back away from the scene when he spun around and caught her mid backwards walk. âUm..â She trailed off, not knowing how to respond. They both knew the directions excuse was a lie, but luckily she didnât have to play along because he admitted defeat soon thereafter. âNot a lot.. See what? I donât know what youâre talking about.â She didnât want to embarrass him any further.

âWatch outââ The beach ball missed narrowly. Seyeon stepped closer with an apologetic smile on his face. âSorry about that! Aiming clearly isnât my strong suit. âDid I hit you? Please tell me I didnât, thatâd be, like. Not in the spirit of teamwork, I guess?â For a moment he was busy picking up the ball before it could roll away again. âOkay, weâre all setââ Spoken bravely and too soon, clearly. The ball slipped out of Seyeonâs grasp and smacked him square in the face before bouncing away again. The rapper blinked, more confused than anything, before looking up again with an embarrassed giggle. â⌠For the sake of my dignity, can we pretend this just⌠never happened?â
Eunhee had never been more grateful for her quick reflexes than she was in that moment. She could never say that she had really been all that athletic, but what she could say was that she could move on her feet rather swiftly. It came in handy sometimes, especially in moments like those. A ball came flying in her direction, and she just narrowly dodged it, her eyes widening in surprise. âItâs fine.â Eunhee waved off the apology with a flippant hand, not harboring any hard feelings towards her junior over the accidental aim. âYou didnât hit me, Iâm quick on my feet.â She opened her mouth to speak again, only to be cut off by the ball hitting him directly in the face. Her jaw dropped, before she immediately closed it, trying to resist the urge to laugh. â..Sure. For now.â

at the accusation, he titled his head to the side a little, shooting her another apologetic smile. âi mean⌠i am sorry for splashing you, that was an accident.â in all honesty, yuanjun hadnât expected his thin frame to be able to move all that much water to begin with. âbut the pool is still really really nice you know? really noona, you should give it a try for yourself!â yuanjun had always had an affinity for pools, ever since he had been a child and with idol schedules, it had been far too long since heâd last found himself floating in such a large body of water. âi mean youâre already soaked now anyway which makes being in the water more pleasant probably. if it makes you feel better, you get to splash me in return! but you know, itâs your call noona.â and with that, he let himself fall back into the water.
âNice? A pool where hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people have been in over the course of just this year alone?â Eunhee questioned with a raise of her eyebrows, hand coming up to remove her sunglasses so she could properly look at the younger male a few feet in front of her. She stared at him for several seconds, before sighing under her breath. She had the sneaking suspicion that he wasnât going to let her get out of it that easily, and being the person that she was (one that didnât like disappointing people), she found herself standing up from her spot on her poolside chair. âI wasnât planning on getting soaked, but somebody wanted to pretend to be an Olympic swimmer.â She eased into the pool, frowning at the sudden change of temperature.Â
đ juniors who have caught your eye as promising idols?
Send me a âđ + a questionâ and my muse has to answer honestly!
âHana in WISH. She has star quality, and I think that with a little bit more work, she could be a formidable vocalist as well. Maybe if she focused a little bit more on vocal coaching, she could rise to the next level ( @hanafmd ). Deity in Femme Fatale. Iâve seen her performances with Ash and she has a lot of potential for greatness ( @fmdxdeity ). Juliet in Lucid. She has an amazing voice, and I look forward to seeing her showcase it more ( @fmdjuliet ). Minzy in 7ROPHY. I know that she writes her own lyrics and even writes and produces for her group, thatâs always a sign of not just a promising idol, but a promising artist ( @fmdminzy ). Hanbyul from CHARM is really talented, but I feel like heâs holding himself back from being great ( @fmdhanbyul ).. Everyone else is talented, but they stand out to me a lot.â
