For those who play/have played Heir to Love and Lies (formerly known as Who Killed La Dama Roja) on Nix Hydraâs Fictif stories:
Is anyone else kind of annoyed that the paid choices in this story specifically seem to be actually necessary to read to understand the story?
Like in The Arcana or Last Legacy the paid choices are extras that you can unlock if you want more romance/expanded scenes, but in HtLaL the paid choices seem to happen whether you unlock them or not (for example: in Chavaâs route I didnât unlock one option to go pick berries and later the characters still talked about what had happened in the option as if I had unlocked it). And some paid options are integral to the mystery: like I didnât unlock the option to talk to Val at the grandmaâs funeral but afterwards the characters were still talking about what happened in the paid option as if I had unlocked it, but because I didnât I had no idea what they were talking about (something about finding blood on a mirror?) Would have been nice to know since thatâs not extra fluff stuff; thatâs info integral to the story and solving the mystery, dudes!
Anyway; I do like the story other than that. And I like Chava and Sergio. Just a weird inconvenience I noticed that seems to be specific to this story. Last Legacy and Roadkill donât have this issue and I havenât played Two Against the World yet.
Absolutely. Especially when you had the opportunity to speak with the other people interested in the land. I would like to get all their opinions, but I do not feel like spending stars just to see them.

âIâm a fool.â
âNo youâre not,â Felix whispers and wipe the liquid from your face, âyouâre anything, but that. If anything I am the fool.â
âI am literally the whole circus.â you canât help but bark a laugh just as some of your words get caught up in your throat. âAm I crying?â
âYou cannot tell?â
Honestly at this point I feel like all sensations have left my body. I canât tell what I feel and itâs making me a bit angry not knowing what my body is trying to tell me. I can feel water on my eyes running down from my face into my red  hands, but it feels just as if itâs raining outside. What is the difference? Felix places a hand on your shoulder and you flinch from their warm touch. You turn to face him, his eyes squinted in confusion or empathy? It is hard to tell through the blurred vision your eyes project back onto you.
He ask you why you're upset and you canât give them a straight forward answer.
âI am just frustrated.â
âWith?â
âI know I am a fool. I love making myself the joke sometimes I donât care, but I hate it. Do I? I donât care. But do I? I really do. I think I really do hate it though. I wish I could stop doing it unconsciously. As I fumble with mistakes I canât help but think âgee I am such the idiotâ and laugh at myself. It hurts but it doesn't. It feels like Iâm laughing at my internal hatred, but also giving in at the same time. I just... I just...â we sit in silence. Felix begins to reach for my other hand and squeezes it lightly.
âYou canât think but I feel the same way? I am so foolish with my magic. I had meant to bring someone I loved back and brought you instead. I can only imagine the stress and confusion youâre under and it is unfair...â he realizes what he is saying may come off as selfish and you sense it in his tone of voice. As Felix tenses he no longer looks you directly in the eye as he mumbles, âIt is unfair for me to compare my failure with your current...state. It is truly my fault and only my doing!â
âFelix, my self deprecation habits has nothing to do with you bringing me into Astraea.â You canât help but laugh as he looks back at you in shock, a bit blushed with confusion. âI just needed to rant about my Earthly problems; I really donât mind if you canât bring me back.â
Felixâs blush is only getting warmer as he averts his eyes everywhere but yours. His hands warm up as they still hold onto yours, loosening their grasp and become a bit...shaky?
âA-Are you cold?â You ask remembering you are sitting in the freezing rain. As you grasp what is happening around you, what was suppose to be a picnic bathing in the sun turned into bathing in the rain. The picnic towel beneath you soaked and once fresh hot bread has become a limp weight in a basket full of wet fruits.
Felix sneezes.Â
âOnly a little bit.â His eyes finally meet yours with a limp smile as he averts them down again. âBut I am the only one here with the mistakes and making a mess out of things. I am so sorry for my mistake...Iâm the, as you say, clown .â
âWe can be the circus together, just us two clowns. Clowning around.â to this, he bursts in laughter and you join.
âThat would be absolutely lovely.â
âNow we should really hurry before we catch a a...achoo.â

I was confused as to why she did that to Utena but I googled it and kind of understood. Itâs a lot to process and re evaluate all the episodes up to the final moment of Anthyâs freedom essentially. Why hadnât Anthy reached out to Utena when Utena asked? If Anthy did wouldnât she be with Utena (and âleaveâ the academy together) and avoid searching for her when Utena âleftâ the academy. It is just...a lot to think about.Â
I was disappointed for that reason and saw her as this empty shell until she attacked Utena proving she could do/act something on her own. Why didnât she act to reach out to Utena? Maybe Anthy did reached out and I missed it because I was painting and watching the last episode but I am just yeah a lot to process.
I feel more pity on Anthy than anything, when she left to look for Utena I feel hopeful, but still kind of sad...
