Last week’s groundbreaking ceremony for The George included AO residential partners RC Alley and Ed Cadavona, together with Associate Charles Addington and Project Manager Michael Mayhew. When completed, the 340-unit, five-story wrap project for Lyon Communities will be the closest development to Angel Stadium to date. Its top level amenity deck is situated just 900 feet from home plate. The third phase of our AvalonBay project in the Irvine, California nears completion! Finishes are being applied to AVB III, the 156-unit wrap building rendered with a textured modernist vocabulary. Large composite windows, frame elements, height articulation and contemporary materials will enliven the view along Alton Parkway. The project is set to open in February of 2016! Residential project manager Andy Thomas served as part of a career panel at the “Opportunities for Learning” public charter school in Compton, California last week. He spoke to students about pursuing careers in architecture and fielded questions about the profession!

On Sept. 19th, URBANA Apartments for Rent in East Village, San Diego , garnered five ‪#‎IconAwards‬, presented by the Building Industry Association (BIA) of San Diego County. The 96-unit mixed-use infill project, in the heart of the East Village, received five awards, including Best Architectural Design – Multi-Family, Best Landscape Design – Multi-Family, Best Advertising Campaign, Best Website and Community of the Year – Attached. ‪#‎ArchitectsOrange‬ was honored to accept the award for Best Architectural Design!
