This is my custom slugcat, inspired by the Elysia genus of Sea Slugs.

Verdant is an "herbivorous" slugcat, like Saint, so can eat blue fruit, popcorn, pomegranates, etc.

"After at last the old giant passed from old age and the struggles of a hard-lived life, once the scavengers have stripped clean his skeleton and the bonebreakers have cleaned up the last scraps of his corporeal form… was he ever really there at all?"

And then the next page will be like: Do you want to learn about the Wumpy Lumpus, or the Snooted Snork?

Yeah... just give a minute to take in that last paragraph first lol.

Cladistics of the Rain World Lizards!

There may be minor spoilers for the abilities of the lizards, but nothing plot related.

I'm not going to go too into detail about the clades I have put the lizards in, so if you have questions about a decision I haven't explained below ask it in the comments! I'm also not hard set on these, so if you have a better idea on how it should be formed, also tell me.

I have split the lizards into four main groups.

The most distantly related group are the relatives of the Salamander Lizard (just the Salamander and the Eel), which split off the longest ago to fill aquatic niches.

Next are the relatives of the Yellow Lizard. These are cooperative lizards that rely heavily on hearing and sound. They first split off from the rest of the tree to fill underground niches.

My favorite of the clades I have created are the relatives of the Blue Lizard. These are lightly built lizards that are agile, fast, and good climbers. Most also have a long tongue to grab prey.

Finally are the lizards related to the Green Lizard. This clade contains the most basal forms of the lizards, as well as some of the more gargantuan members.

I thought the graffiti in RW looked a lot like sitelen suwi, and now I totally headcanon the iterators and benefactors as speaking toki pona.
