“You’re in the first episode, getting the shit beat outta you by Kamoshida,” Jon said, prompting Ryuji to deflate and kick at the ground. “But you’re also trying to get Ren–I mean, Akira–to run, so there’s a good basis for judgment of your character right there. Anyway, it’s been a long time, huh?” he added, grinning at Akira.
“You’d have to be in it, you’re a main character. And you did good when we first met... I should’a done more.” Akira cast a shy smile at Ryuji, though his face was somewhat hidden behind his hand since he was still fidgeting with his bangs.
“...But yeah, it feels like it’s been a while. I’ve been busy with the usual school work and stuff.” ‘Stuff’ including metaverse visits, but he couldn’t very well say that on a busy public street. “We’re going to Big Bang again, right?”

Jon grinned. “You didn’t hear? Your anime came out today,” he said, putting his other foot down and nudging Ryuji playfully. “And I guess the guys who make the Persona series like fucking with the protag’s name or something. I mean, Persona 4 renamed Souji–get this–Yuu. Atlus is weird, huh?”
“Dude, you’re speakin’ in tongues,” Ryuji said, rolling his eyes and turning back to Akira. “You busy right now? Jon said he was gonna treat us to Big Bang.”
“I said I was paying for myself,” Jon pouted. “But I guess I can treat you guys…”
“Ohhh. That’s...kinda weird, honestly.” To think he’d be in an anime... But then again, he already knew that supposedly in some other weird timelines he was just some video game protagonist. “I don’t know anything about this Souji guy though...”
Akira shrugged and slouched his shoulders a bit then, as he pocketed his hands. “I’ve got enough yen to cover myself... I can cover for myself and Ryuji instead.” He offered, one hand now coming up to tug slightly at his bangs and twirl the loose strands there out of habit.
TWEEFT’S SEMI-EMERGENCY COMMISSIONS
so family drama about a month ago has resulted in about 1/3 of the income of our house to almost literally walk out the door. in that month my stepdad and i, and to a lesser extent my sister that’s living with us, have really had to step it up with the budget and the bills and stuff. before leaving, my mom did actually pay off most of the bills for that month, so it’s this month that we’ll really figure out how well we can handle our increase in bill-paying.
so in order to help cushion us if we come up short, i’d like to announce that my commissions are (still/always) open!

The phoenix gives Ryuji a baleful look before smiling at Akira again, a mischievous glint in his eye. “How’s it going, Ren?”
The blond glances back at Jon, eyebrow raised. “Who th’fuck is Ren?”
He only just now noticed Jon seemingly doing a little dance, and tilted his head a bit to the side, hair somewhat falling in his eyes. And as he’s about to answer, he’s thrown off by being called a name that he doesn’t by any means recognize.
“R...Ren?” He can only question with a slight confusion entering his voice. “Wha?”

“Is it me?” Jon pops up out of nowhere and waves back at him.
Ryuji looks more concerned than excited, frowning at Akira in worry–while not-so-subtly kicking Jon’s leg. “…Are you sick or something, bro?”
“Ack--” There’s a slight jump in surprise, before he turns and greets both boys with a grin. “Oh! Hey...! No, um... I always talk like this? I’m okay, really.”
“Surprise, guess who’s back...~”
The intent is there, but with how quiet Akira’s voice is it lacks a bit in the actual excitement department.
