So this happened a while back around the time my Instagram integration with Tumblr finally completely bit the dust...
I've never been much of a pinball guy…just never really understood it. I've started to get it in recent years though I'd never consider myself very good. I also always knew I'd want to own at least one but could never decide which it might be. Of course there are the classics that everyone can agree on but in terms of a single specific machine, I had no clue what I'd ultimately pick.
There are plenty of pins out there with great themes that certainly spark my interest. But none really enough for me to drop thousands of dollars on.
Then enter The Big Lebowski Pinball from Dutch Pinballall
As this was being crowd funded, I really wanted to get in early. Unfortunately the time just wasn't right with everything going on back then. I hoped I'd eventually play one at a local arcade or at an expo or something but that never happened.
As the price continued to rise, I've been on the fence for the last few years. I finally made the choice to bite the bullet late last year and it showed up a couple of weeks ago.
Man is it a lot of fun. I think I'm starting to get the hang of things; slowly getting better. I really dig the bowling alley lower play field and the fact that you can just play a round of bowling with friends there if you want. Being good at that plays a decent role in the main game so it's nice to be able to practice like that.
Coming from an arcade collector's standpoint, I don't really see how you pin guys can have so many of these things 😅 Granted I understand that I picked one of the most expensive ones out there but the most expensive arcade I ever bought was less than half the cost of this thing, and that was at retail.
I'm not mad, this thing is great. Maybe that's the point. It also takes up like 1/4 the room it's in but it works 😂
