It was a rare thing in the city, for the clouds to part enough to see the stars above so clearly. Of course, Uzi had never really paid them much mind before today. There had always been too much going on, both in her life and in her head, to stop and stare at the sky. But that was what she found herself doing right now, with N at her side, his tail coiled around her ankle.

Happy WIP Wednesday friends! We're back with some star gazing Nuzi now. Fun fact; the second half of this very WIP is one of the very first things I wrote for Murder Drones. We've come full circle now!
For a long time, they lay in peaceful silence, content to simply belong in the comfort of each other’s company. Uzi scanned years worth of her memory for the few lessons on astrology taught in their sheltered bunker… something until now she had considered utterly useless for their subterranean life. She could pick out a few stars that she remembered; most notably the North Star used by humans for navigation on Copper 9. Apparently, there had been a North Star on Earth too, so N said, that had been called Polaris, but the humans here hadn’t really cared enough to give this one a proper name.
…Why would they? They hadn’t cared about anything on this forsaken world.
You look like a Charlie, Uzi thought to herself. If those stinkin’ humans didn’t have the compassion to name you, then I will.
“You know, humans used to make pictures out of the stars,”
N’s voice startled Uzi from her thoughts, and as she took a moment to process what he said, she turned to glance at him quizzically. “That’s weird and redundant. Why would they do that?”
“I dunno. Something about… stories? Really, really old ones.” N shrugged softly, but there was a look on his face Uzi recognised. He was trying to recall something – something from his life before all of this, just out of reach and barely skimming along the edges of fractured memories. “I think… I think Tessa taught us some. Constellations - that was it! They were called constellations.”
“Huh…” Uzi stared up at the endless expanse, at the tiny specs of light glittering in the dark. She’d never tried to empathise with humans before; never tried to get into their weird, gross, fleshy heads, but for N’s sake, she tried. She tried to see what they might have seen, tried to connect the dots into something, anything which made sense. But the stars only blinked back at her with the same, blank, lifeless expression that they always had, refusing to surrender any of their answers.

Ok so I was drawing, right, and then I realized something.

"Relationships are two-sided": to be able to make the circus work, both Caine and the circus members should've communicated with each other properly
"-and sometimes it doesn't make sense to do all the heavy lifting when the other isn't in the mood": Caine forcing his adventures onto everyone, thinking it would appeal to them when in reality it's the very thing that drives the humans away (in Pomni's case, she literally views Caine as someone who wants to see her suffer in episode 3)
"And sometimes you just need to let people do things their own way": referring to the suggestion box adventures, but because Caine feels like it should be HIS ideas that the humans like, he keeps shutting them down
"As long as you're still there when they need you, giving someone space should never be the same as giving up on them": He never listened, he never TRIED to understand, he just basically bombarded and suffocated the humans with his adventures because that's what HE thought would benefit them
"There are always ways to show you care without ruining yourself over it. You need to look out for yourself in all this too": Caine saying he literally slaves away for the adventures, that he does everything for the humans but they still don't like him
