all along the watch tower

Ten year old Andrew couldn't believe he'd let his parents talk him in to this stupid camping trip with his stupid boy scouts chapter. Hey, it was bad enough they made him join boy scouts in the first place. The shrink said joining the boy scouts would help him make friends, become more sociable, but if anything, it had just made him hate people more. Well, he didn't hate everyone. He liked Johnny. Johnny was cool, but his parents didn't make him do stupid shit like this. Johnny was in bed right now, or playing video games with his brother. He wished Johnny were here. 

After lying there for a little longer, he decided he couldn't stand it any more. Sam McGee wouldn't stop farting, he was bored, and he couldn't even read because he had no source of light. Completely determined to get out of the tent, Andrew decided to go for a walk. Sure, he'd be in trouble if he got caught, but he didn't care much. He shuffled around for his boots and parka as well as his sweater he'd warn during the day, putting it over his pyjamas for extra warmth, and crept out of the tent.

It actually seemed warmer out here than it did in the tent. Luckily, Andrew's tent was on the edge of the camp site, so he only had to take a couple of steps before he was at the fence that separated him and the forest. After he'd managed to climb over, he decided against going for a walk, he didn't have a torch, and... bears. He didn't feel like wrestling bears today.
