Hi everyone. I need to share something important.
My PayPal account was permanently closed and my appeal was rejected, even though I had 5 years of clean history, no disputes, and a PayPal agent confirmed my account looked fine and that many false positives were happening lately.
After talking with other artists, I was told PayPal may automatically flag words related to art commissions, which makes this process feel inconsistent and even random.
From now on, I’ll receive payments mainly via Payoneer, sometimes via an alternative account in PayPal, and I’m considering activating VGen. Payments will follow my specific instructions and be sent mostly through direct invoices.
PayPal was my only source of income, and as a full-time caregiver of a child with a disability, this situation is very scary and impactful. If none of these work, I will be forced to stop taking commissions and try to survive selling merch locally in my country instead.
Still, I’m doing everything I can to keep working and delivering my best for you.
Thank you for all the support and kindness🌻
P.S. Support artists, let them issue invoices, and be open to more payment or purchasing platforms like Vgen, etc. Drawing isn't illegal, but it's become a minefield for all freelancers, and that's very sad.
A tip! Several friends recommended that if you use PayPal, only issue invoices, and use digital services tags. Don't use art-related terms; this is so new that not much is known about it, and the representatives told me that the terms and conditions prohibit them from specifying the problem or which payment method was breached.
So there's no way to know. I wish you all the best and support the other artists. Use multiple payment methods; don't save your money in PayPal.
