this is an event months in the making. getting meteor falls for their wedding had been a simple enough matter – very few people pass through it anyway. with advance notice provided to the trainers and travelers frequenting the place, the place was ready. from there, it was simply a matter of making preparations for the ceremony and the following reception – ensuring that there was sufficient seating, sufficient lighting, and elegant decorations that do not interfere too heavily with the pokemon residing in the area. white and blue, the theme colors for their wedding, adorn the chairs now, the silk bows hanging from the front of aisle, the marble columns from which soft ribbons are draped … and in the aisle, a blue roll-up carpet. the whole area is corded off from the rest of the cave to try to prevent any incidents.

the elite four – his elite four, if he is honest about that – have been absolutely vital in getting the place decorated, the arrangements made, and all the last-minute tasks completed. even his metagross has been pitching in, using its psychic powers to assist in decorating. his father has also been helping – it certainly doesn’t hurt that the chosen venue is so close to rustboro. on the morning of the wedding, his father is there, helping him into a classy, white tuxedo, complete with a blue tie. from there, he waits for his cue to enter the area and start down the aisle with his father by his side. he is relieved to see that everything had come out as planned – and amazed at how much better it looked fully realized than he had been anticipating. he can feel excitement rising in his chest, but outwardly maintains his cool composure.

now, all that’s missing is … him.

Wallace has been ... something short of a nightmare on his special day. The dress had to fit just right. His heels had to be the right length. His hair had to be just the way he wanted it. But now that he’s here, beginning the trek down the aisle with his own father in tow, he realizes that he’s been something of a bridezilla for nothing. His veil obscures his face, but his makeup is on point and more importantly, so is his dress. He figures he’ll apologize after everything is said and done.

He won’t cry! That’s what he tells himself as he begins the slow trek down the blue aisle, holding a bouquet of white and teal roses to match the tint of his hair. When he spies Steven at the end in his little white tuxedo, his heart leaps into his throat. The Luvdisc carrying his train drop it when he finally arrives at the centerpiece, the dual heart-shaped pokemon lifting the veil for him and draping it over the back of his rose-shaped hair.

“... Hey.” He says, a little awkwardly. For so long, he’s always known what to say, what to do, and how to act. But now, on the most important day of his life, he’s a little speechless in a GOOD way. “You look amazing, Steven ...”
