I dont know I’m not prepared for another 18 years of Naoto discourse. If I have to see more people use watsonian explanations to argue with people pointing out how Naoto’s story is a transphobic stereotype of trans men and how it demonizes medical transition, I think I will go insane.

Especially because it will come from both sides of the fandom. I do think people going into my inbox to tell me they think naoto is a nonbinary lesbian or whatever are more annoying then the people who say naoto is cis. Because people saying Naoto is cis are just dumb and transphobic.

People doing headcanon discourse are annoying and don’t know the difference between headcanon discussions and discussions talking about how an author’s biases can impact their work. So it makes me double annoyed because not only are minimizing conversations about transphobic writings, they are too fandom brained to realize the conversation has nothing to do with headcanons.

Discourse like this is also why I stopped interacting with the danganronpa fandom.

Because like you can say something simple like “Chihiro Fujisaki is a transmisogynistic representation of what the author thinks of trans girls. The idea that young trans girls are just boys pretending to be women because they are insecure due to things like bulling is a common one. Chihiro Fujisaki’s story reinforces this idea.” and someone will come along going “well I headcanon them as transmasc/nonbinary/cis/etc.” like okay good for you but I’m not talking about headcanons or what the characters actual identity is. Im talking about the authors clear transmisogynistic bias can you please keep your headcanon talk to threads talking about headcanons.
