moffat's awful writing didn't get that much better between smith and capaldi's tenure but the latter is still much better because when capaldi's doctor says shit like "you will find that it's a very small universe when I am angry with you" he genuinely sounds like a wrathful immortal but when matt smith's doctor says "i! am! talking!" he sounds like a supply teacher who's lost control of the class

capaldi is so good at acting he managed to fool people into thinking the Zygon Inversion speech was actually good
