Vanellope wasn’t really sure how her classmates had talked her into coming to the Karaoke Bar. Not that she was antisocial, but a group activity like this wasn’t usually her game.
Hanging out, watching movies and playing video games was usually more her speed. She’d participated, singing a few duets with the other girls as they got progressively more intoxicated. Eventually, they moved on to singing more solos, and Vanellope muttered to one of the girls,
“I have to use the bathroom,” and quickly excused herself. Winding her way over to the bar, she plopped onto a stool and ordered something sweet.
“Phew,” she sighed. She turned to the person sitting next to her.
“I swear if I have to hear one more pitchy rendition of ‘We are Never Getting Back Together’ my ears might fall off.”
april was never afraid to go anywhere new. but, it was different doing things on her own. especially going out. but, she couldn’t spend much more time alone in her small studio apartment. she needed to go out and see more of the town. the idea of a karaoke bar amused her. the thought of people drunkenly crooning tunes was enough to make her decide it was worth a shot.
perched on a barstool april sat stirring her mixed drink with the tiny straw as another came and sat beside her. she let out a laugh at their displeasure before nodding in agreement.
“what are you not a big swiftie?” she asked with a small giggle, “i may have to agree... they might need to switch it up a little.”
