hello, my name is juliie (or julie, if you don’t want to include the extra i)

this blog is mostly doodles and finished art, maybe the occasional ramble

how ralsei’s gonna be moving in chapter 6

OHHH I HAVE SO MANY. ok quick disclaimer i actually haven’t finished the chapter yet. i got to what i assume is the final bossfight, but then i had a vaccine appointment scheduled and so my arm is too sore to let me play—my hope is to finish it by tonight because i cannot dodge spoilers any longer i wanna look at fanart AUGHH

ok first thing: i did not care for the suselle stuff. i thought it was cute n stuff in previous chapters, but this time it just felt so….forced. and also kind of out of character. to me the dynamic doesn’t really make sense, especially based on how long susie and noelle have actually been talking to each other; also it was baked into literally every part of the chapter. i really miss when each ship got a somewhat-even portion of content instead of suselle becoming the primary ship and everything else getting crumbs, which also means all the other ships wont be getting as much fan content, and that makes me sad (and a little irritated) i want to like the ship, i really do, but the whole everything about it that happened in chapter 5 makes it so hard.

moving on—HAATTEEE flowery, but i do like his character and the fact that he pushes ralsei’s narrative along greatly. also he was never ever ever boring and i liked that a lot also. I hate him but i like him, if that even makes sense.

ALL THE OTHER FLOWERS ARE SO CUTE HELLO???? I love all their dynamics with each other, aqua is absolutely my favorite (minus her attacks, those were difficult i died like 7 times to her alone) also the whole trying-to-convince-yellow-not-to-blow-his-shit-smooth-off was hilarious i was wheezing the whole time—also yellow and blue absolutely beat spamtenna and it isn’t even close

i definitely noticed that this chapter was harder than other chapters bullet-pattern wise, which was honestly kinda refreshing. over the years i’ve gotten really good at utdr, which made other chapters feel kinda easy, so it was kinda nice getting to fail tbh!!

THE MUSIC!!!!!!!!! oh my god the music. the music. good good good good good good good good i liked it a lot like sooooo much. the new rude buster had me high-fiving god

my favorite part of the chapter was definitely ralsei not having anyyyy of it. i’m so glad he actually took “it’s ok not to smile” to heart—also i loved it whenever he would hate on flowery. ALSO HIS ANGRY SPRITES????? SO FREAKING CUTE AHGHGHHHG!!!!!! and his use of offensive fire magic……….im excited to see where that goes. i i hope he’s like this in the next chapters, attitude looks so good on him.

AND THE PLATFORMER PART WAS SO COOL!!!!! it was so fun i hope that mechanic is revisited over and over and over because wow. i sucked at it and it gave me flashbacks to when i kept dying in hollow knight but wow.

the new talk sprites were awesome. actually all the sprite work was awesome. everything is becoming more detailed and more fluid and im really enjoying seeing the progress and improvement from the previous chapters!!
