From the first time I saw that juicy green apple rotate, I knew it was love. I stood from a distance, watching that gorgeous piece of fruit spin ever so seductively. How I longed to stroke her smooth green peel. She was the perfect color, that perfect blend between chartreuse, lime and forest green. There was no better color than that perfect apple-green. I wanted to tell her how I felt, but I had a feeling that she would just turn me down, for I was a mere banana. An apple going out with a banana was unheard of, and just downright socially unacceptable. And besides, she was way out of my league. With her smooth curves and her two perfect little leaves. And then there's me, an ugly yellow banana, lanky and just plain awkward. I would never be good enough for her. So I just sit here, watching her graceful dance from across the counter in eternal longing.
